Well.. many people will say that salvia isn't really a "fun" trip but that doesn't mean that all of them end up turning sour.
At the same time as well, I think just because it's not euphoric; doesn't mean it can't be enjoyed.
I've had a total of about 10 salvia experiences (that worked) and I can't say a single one was scary. Confusing maybe, but that just kinda added to the overall enjoyment for me.
Like this one time me and my friends had gathered down by a river, beautiful setting really, surrounded by tall grass and trees thick enough it blocked out most of the sun.
When I sparked my bowl of salvia, everything seemed to grow 10x bigger (or I got 10x smaller) and shifted on an angle. I was later told that this was because I had kinda fallen over sideways LOL.
When I was admiring this huge forested area, my friends passed me the pipe; I said "no more salvia for me thanks, I'm already tripping balls" (or somthing along those lines but slurred and jumbled like salvia speech is)
Friends; " um. . This isn't salvia."
Me; "..but what is is?"
Friend "it's weed."
"Weed!?!?!?! THAAAANKSSSS!!!"
and I smoked the fuck outta that weed (with the help of my friends cause I couldn't figure out how to use the lighter)
They were ridiculously amused by my extreme gratitude for passing the weed. I learned 2 things from that trip.
Nature is huge and extraordinary compared to us, so simple yet under appreciated in our industrial age.
Sharing even the little things with eachother can sometimes go overlooked; Where normaly people expect the bowl to be passed around, in my trip somehow I had lost all expectations of normal social sharing and expected to receive nothing, anything I was given seemed like a true gift
