Opioids Cant get high from codeine

Ive taken codeine multiple times and never really gotten much of a buzz from it, doses of around 300-400mg only made me feel a bit sedated and not really euphoric. I heard somewhere that a certain percent of the population dont digest codeine properly and therefore it doesnt get them high. Is this true and could that be the case for me?
 
alot of people's bodies do not properly convert the codeine into morphine, and therefore you do not get much of anything out of it.....

Yes i think that might be the case with me, codeine just makes me sleepy even in high doses.
 
yea, you could just have a natural tolerance to opiates like me. That amount of codeine has NEVER been able to anything to me. Or you could have been using other stronger opiates and just not told us about it....meaning you have an opiate tolerance we dont know about. IM sry, its just that some people really dont think to tell people that information when they ask these kinds of questions. Or, like they said, you could be one of the few people who cant break codeine down into morphine. I would take like 20 mg's of hydrocodone and see if you feel anything. if you do, then you probably just cant properly digest the codeine because if 400mg's of codeine wont get you high because of a toelrance, then neither would 20mg's of hydrocodone.

Codeine was the first opiate i touched so i cant have a tolerance to it. The only other opiates ive touched are morphine and tramadol ad they didnt seem to do much for me either. I must just be unable to break codeine down.

Which is a shame really because i can get codeine cheap as chips :(
 
Maybe you metabolize it poorly, maybe its just weak, maybe its not your DOC... Its all just speculation and doesn't have harm reduction value for the community to discuss it.
