Chainer that wasnt a source, that was for mediacl clinics. Its not a source website, it gives locations of medicinal dispensaries, which you see advertised all over the web. Its ok if you dont want it there, its your forum, but that didnt link sources, it linked medicinal dispensaries legal in california.

It's not my forum, it's OUR forum I had to remove the link because it provided information on how to obtain a MMJ card, and links to doctors (sources). Not my policy, but I understand the logic. We don't allow sources that are EASILY google-able; anyone with half a brain can find that information, but we just don't like to host it here. That's all. No biggie.

And what you may know as Blue cheese, may not be it in states where experimentation has gone on, like California where people are making new combinations and new strains each day.

Well yes, but new combinations and new strains should not fall under the same name. I have plenty of easy access to MMJ (a majority of the MMJ is from CA) and homegrown and home-crossed strains and clones. I was just pointing out that Blue Cheese *is* Buddah Cheese x Blueberry Clone - any other cross just isn't the same thing, lol. That's the problem with this stupid naming system, and with all the newer dispensaries popping up. At least most give lineage, but as time goes on, names mean less and less as they get muddled with other strains. I saw one dispensary that had Durban Poison listed as an Indica hybrid - it's a landrace pure sativa. But I see your point - I'm just saying it needs a different name if it's a different strain

On topic: just smoked some landrace sativa strains and am enjoying some baby swiss. I've never gone out of my way to buy cheese from the grocery store before, but this thread made me feel like at least one purchase was warranted. It's not bad, but nor is any food when I'm high haha.

I understand you completely. At most dispensaries they acknowledge the fact that some of the newer hybrids arent the original strain and will write out whats been crossed to make the certain strain.

I am a big fan of cheese & crackers while having a session. Cheese & crackers and a heavily hopped beer is even better.

i'm with papa and others in the forum. it has to be salty and sharp. i'm an absolute sucker for cheddar which is so sharp it takes the roof off your mouth. i'm also big into blue cheeses with stilton near the top of the list of favourites. i've been eating a lot of aged gouda lately - just typing that makes my mouth water.

Actually, when I smoke weed I highly despise eating. Cheese is the only thing you will ever see me eat while high actually.

All the foods you listed are horrendously generic snack foods that almost everyone eats whether theyre high or sober or in the 1st grade. If you read the OP you would see that this thread was started due to the fact he found it quite weird how himself and his friends seem to crave cheese and enjoy it significantly more while high than while sober. Cheese is not a very common snack for most people, and certainly not the first thing that comes to most peoples minds when they think munchies!

I love a nice strong cheddar and a few black pepper crackers after a smoke, bit of chutney on the side and yer good to go. Re: cheese the strain, it seems to be used as a generic brand name by uk dealers nowadays, much like skunk was/is. The real stinky clone-only strain is some of the nicest greenery I've ever had the pleasure of sampling though.

Today I actually had some Roquefort on a chicken parm sub after a sesh with some AK, and it was to die for. Like brats compliment beer (or the other way around), I think cannabis and fatty, salty snacks compliment themselves quite nicely. It's not a silly subject, really. Do you go into wine BB's and tell them "it's just filet mignon or chilean sea bass you're eating with that Pinot!"

yeah i thought it was bullshit most of the time, but then that one time we smelt the baggy straight away we were all like "this actual smells like cheese" and that shit was nice.

The correlation is probably due to the high L-Tryptophan levels in most cheeses. Cannabis is known to have the potential to cause a serotonin deficiency. Acute administration of cannabis is known to spike cortisol levels (a stress hormone), which in turn depletes serotonin, so perhaps that's the mechanism at the root of it. I bet (not money, too broke that if you started a poll to see how many cannabis users love eating eggs or drinking milk, you would see a similar correlation since eggs and milk contain even higher levels of L-Tryptophan than most cheeses.

^ That sounds plausible, but I think there is something to Bomboclat's claim that it has to do with salt cravings. I personally don't crave eggs while high, but certainly crave salt.

Thank you for bringing some science into this discussion! I was wondering what about cheese makes it so pleasing to stoners. This does seem to hold true tho, when I get angry/pissed off/stressed out I usually jump right to a bowl of extra cheesy mac+cheese!
