I'm curious if anyone's had experience with building up really high tolerance to pot, and how long it took them to recover from it.
I used to smoke casually, but after a trip to Amsterdam, became a much more regular smoker. After about a 8-12 months, it got really old, and wasn't fun anymore...just felt tired, and weird/paranoid thoughts. Haven't touched pot in almost 6 months now...

wrong forum, but your tolerance should be gone, i only quit for a few months at a time and its gone.

For me personally,
It seems the more I smoke, the easier it is for me to get high. And I don't mean in one session, I mean collectively.

After 6 yrs chronic weed smoking, it only took 6 weeks off before i had pretty much no tolerance. Now i get as ripped off 1 pipe as i would've off 8 before. Odd things happen when you kick it though- for me, 2-3 weeks later felt energetic and generally brighter. Now 2 months later have reverted back to some of my old feelings of tiredness and dep. Have read that memory and dep can actually get worse when u give up pot, then improve greatly nearer to the 6 month mark. Take this as "i've heard somewhere" info though- effects everyone differently. :)

when you smoke all day everyday.. .you dont even get really high anymore... only if you come across something special that youre not used to smoke, if i get really good stuff(superskunk) after smoking standard hashish for a couple of months... it gets me fucked up :)
this may not be for everyone.. .but its like this for me...

I have been smoking heavily since summer. Now i hardly get high. Anyway i decided to quit. I couldnt get to sleep. I laid awake til 6am in my bed hoping to get some sleep b4 work. This has been going on for 2 nights. I also had a total loss of appetite. Im usually a big eater. Even b4 i started getting high. I have been eating one meal a day. Usually a snack too. Which is alot less for me. I dont mind not eating cuz i am a little on the chubby side from sitting on my ass all winter and smoking weed. ANyone else had this happen?

Sorry for adding to the already extensive list of questions on this topic, but has anybody that describes the "you're not even high anymore after being an avid smoker for awhile" quit and had a resurgence of enjoyment from smoking. I've been a pretty big smoker for about a year now and just recently there have been month gaps in between my smoke sessions. I used to love it, now its just a heavy sedated groggy feeling. Any advice on if I should try quitting for awhile?...thanks everybody

its unfortunate some of you experience bad effects of smoking after a while, loss of appetite, not being able to sleep etc. for me i'm able to integrate pot into my daily life and i enjoy life a lot better. i've been smoking daily like this for over a year and a half now and i still enjoy it. granted my tolerance is up but i'm used to it now, and dank nugs still get me high. for me i like smoking at the end of the day when i get done with class and all my homework/exams. granted smoking during the day with nothing to do is always fun too :)
