This trip report isn't nearly as crazy as most on here but I thought it was entertaining enough to post.
On a recent business trip from my home in Canada to a big American city, I had a 5 hour layover. I knew this was going to be boring as hell so the night before I left I made a good batch of Cannabis tincture (one of my favorite ways to consume).
I ground up a 1/4 ounce of beautiful locally grown hydroponic buds, decarboxylated it, and simmered it for half an hour in 2 ounces of orange extract (95% alchohol) in a water bath. Once finished I had 1 ounce (30ml) of green dragon. I didn't bother testing before I left, just strained it carefully and put it into an opaque dropper bottle that used to contain tangerine flavoured liquid echinacea - a perfect cover for getting through International airport security.
Got through security without issues, although I did feel a little tingle in my belly when the TSA agent was checking out the ziplock bag full of toiletries in my carry on, which was where my "echinacea" was. Arrived for my layover and started scoping things out. I bought a bottle of juice, found a relatively quiet bathroom, went into a stall, measured out 7ml of "echinacea" and put it in the juice. I usually do 3 - 4 ml of my green dragon, which in theory should be equivalent to 1 gram of bud. The alcohol smell was actually quite strong and I worried some security guard would take note, although I could always just say I'd been tossing a few back in the airport bar.
I went and found a nice seat by some massive windows and watched the planes doing their thing outside. Quite beautiful really. I watched some tv I'd downloaded on my phone. After 45 mins I was a bit bummed to find it hadn't kicked in much - usually my toes start tingling around the 45 min mark. I thought maybe the batch had come out weaker than usual so I went back to the bathroom and added another 3ml to my juice, then went and got a sandwich.
As I started eating the tincture started to come on nice and strong. Maybe the food helped stimulate my GI tract into action to start digesting the green dragon along with the food. In any case it was coming on nice and strong. The high was coming on nicely and felt like I'd eaten a couple of potent edibles - really nice body high.
As I was watching planes land, reading the paper and really feeling great, I looked at my phone and realized my flight was to depart in 15 mins. This was odd because the gate, which I was at, was empty of staff or travellers. I gathered my stuff (took a little while as I spent a few minutes tweaking out on my bag, organizing it and stuff). I found a flight information board and learned that the gate of my flight had been changed - to a gate on the other side of the airport. This was quite a surprise and I started to haul ass toward the new gate. I got there as they were closing the doors, and got to be the person who finds their seat while everyone else on the plane has boarded.
I admit my paranoia mounted as I walked down the center aisle of the plane, feeling the eyes of many passengers on me as I went. But I reminded myself I can fake sobriety quite well (fool my in laws all the time), found my seat, and managed to manhandle my carry on into the small remaining space in the overhead.
The rest of the flight was fantastic. I felt so comfortable and chilled out. I did some reading and gawked at the beauty of being above the clouds. I spent some time thinking about the fact that I was in a metal tube, moving at hundreds of miles an hour, thousands of feet above terra firma. Being "high" up in the sky was definitely a great way to appreciate the marvels of modern life that I normally take for granted.
Arrived at my destination, buddy picked me up and we had a great night having dinner and drinking with his friends. A few days later I looked back and realized I had little memory of most of the night, which confirmed it'd been a relatively strong green dragon dose.
I'll definitely repeat next time I travel - the green dragon seems like a good choice for taking to an airport because I imagine the high alcohol content would prevent dogs from being able to smell the cannabis - although this is just a guess.
