Cannabis Indica vs Prozac Some questions

Anybody with Scientific knowledge can you enlighten as to why Cannabis Indica is a better medicine than Prozac????
I am having a heated argument with someone. I consider Cannabis one of the most safe medications out there yes it has its drawbacks but its a leaf a plant for peats sake. I Personally think it is safer to toke 1 or twice a week than to rely on Prozac Antidepressants daily. What do you all say? What are the negatives to each one or the positive to each?

I sometimes toke up to relax. My god The plants and alkaloids that motherearth provides us is just amazing.
I consider the Cannabis high great. Its a terpenoid not the usual alkaloid. And yea I took some other natural stuff as well Kratom and Kanna Sceletium tortousum both of those have benefits as well maybe even safer than Cannabis itself.
But damn I've been studying Pharmacology and Pharmacognosy. There is no doubt in my mind and the minds of many others that Marijuana is not only a psychoactive substance but a medicine. In my book of Pharmacognosy the predominant Medical effects are Anti-Anxiety in some Anxiety inducing in others. Anti-Convulsant effects, Pain relieving effects, Appetite Stimulant, Nausea removing effect, The effects on Alzheimer disease are questionable but perhaps it does have some relieving effects I have to study up on this,
New studies Indicate A CBD rich strain has a higher medical effect for many. And a very good Anti-Psychotic Neuroleptic and Anxiolytic effect.
We need more CBD rich strain weed for the Indica buzz as its more medical.
Though Sativa could benefit Depression due to mental stimulation.

I enjoy Indica.
Also what do I tell this person that takes prozac about my bud?
He looks down on Bud. I sort of made a life time choice to continue to use but in moderation.
Not daily toking but once in a while or once a week what harm can it bring??

Daily or excessive usage of anything can bring harm and yea Cannabis to some people induces psychotic or anxiety reactions. I never had a psychotic reaction( probably never will) ANxiety reactions a few times it happened to me.
 
I hear that Prozac CAN be very useful for certain individuals. Aside from the adverse side effects, withdrawal and risk of interaction with other substances etc (and by the sounds of things these can be rather severe)
i feel that even if you wish to use a substance specifically to increase serotonin function, there are safer more 'wholesome' means available.
It has been speculated that certain nutritional deficiences can have a powerful limiting effect on serotonin production, and when these deficiences are rectified, increased mood and such tends to result.
Substances that can increase serotonin function (sometimes to a remarkable extent) are tryptophan/ 5 HTP (which can often compare favourably in terms of efficacy in comparison to pharmaceutical SSRIs - certain the efficacy can be similar), various other nutrients involved directly in serotonin function such as Niacin, SAMe (S-Adenosyl Methionine), magnesium, B6, zinc... reducing or increasing methylation through the use of particular nutrients can have a profound effect on serotonin function... omega 3 is involved in aiding 5 HT function AND building effective receptors...

You get the idea. My current status is that if one is going to attempt to create happiness primarily through direct manipulation of neurochemistry (specifically through the use of substances i might add) nutrition is a better way to go.
FYI, there are ample case studies to support this argument.
