I'm 22, female, 120 lbs. I'm pretty ill, having thyroid disease, a GI disease and a spinal cord disease. I take Cymbalta, tramadol, Lyrica, Pentasa and methimazole regularly. I smoked weed for the first time on 4/20. Mainly I was just curious to see if it would help relieve my pain. I wasn't really interested in getting high. The only experience I have with drugs is through legal means as I've only used opioids and for legitimate reasons.

I inhaled far more than I ever should have. I'm not aware of the lingo for weed so bare with me. I smoked from a bowl (that's what they said, but I thought it was a pipe), then a huge joint put together from cigar paper, then a jug with a marker inserted in it that you'd light and smoke would rise from inside. Before I used the jug, I didn't really feel any effect, and I figured it should be nearly instantaneous since it's inhaled and not ingested. It was not a wise decision on my part. I felt the effects after the jug, and chose at that point I would never do it again. The mere burning of my lungs was enough to keep me from doing it again.

It was clear that after I took a hit from the jug that I had inhaled too much. I started getting a headache and was somewhat nauseous, and this subsided soon after. I went to my friend's bed and laid there in the darkness. My sense of time was misconstrued and everything was a blur. Things that I imagined seemed to be reality. I felt detached from my body, and things that I heard sounded strange and muffled, even more strange than any nod from an opiate. I was out of control and I hated it. I went to the bathroom twice and I noticed that I was urinating more than I have ever before, or at least that's what I thought. My eyes and pupils did not seem that unusual to me -- my eyelids were only slightly droopy. The most alarming aspect of that night was that I was shaking a lot uncontrollably -- I have had shaking (called myoclonus) from tramadol before (keep in mind I did all my regular meds that night, including 200 mg tramadol), but this was very severe. It was embarrassing to not have control of your body like that.

The worst thing is I was taken advantage of that night... I shouldn't have been in that situation. My advice to all of you is to experiment with drugs with someone of your gender and that you know very well. And with any drug, wait an amount of time before deciding "Oh well that didn't work better try again." Especially with ingested drugs. I made a mistake. Don't make the same mistakes I did. No amount of "experimenting" is worth it.

that happened to me too, my first time. i was shaking/shivering uncontrollably, i wasnt connected to reality, and didnt know what was goin on

i continued to use it though and it's given me by far the most amazing experiences ever, and significantly altered my life/direction. it has a lot of power, which you just found out, but i don't know if i'd discount it so easily

after a couple uses, i was completely in control of myself and even though it's usually uncomfortable and disconcerting, it has a lot to teach

I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience and was taken advantage of, i hope that you find some way to overcome your illnesses, and marijuana just isn't for everyone. Atleast now you know you don't like it, even if you would have preffered it in a lower dosage, with a better set and setting, i doubt you'll be touching it again, this is a shame as it could have been a great help for you, but it may just also not be for you, atleast you got to smoke some on one 4/20 8)

bowl and pipe are synonymous, a joint made with cigar paper is called a blunt, and the jug is called a gravity bong, or a bucket.

Before I used the jug, I didn't really feel any effect, and I figured it should be nearly instantaneous since it's inhaled and not ingested.

thats probally becuase your inhaling technique was a bit off, its common for first time smokers not to be able to hit the pipe or joint correctly, but the jug forces the smoke into your lungs, guarenteeing a giant hit.

im sorry your experience was less than enjoyable, sounds like you got too much smoke for your first time, and your prescribed drugs probally added to the effect as cymbalta, tramadol and lyrica are psychoactive too.

maybe give it another try when your in a more comfortable environment, and dont use the gravity bong. but then again, weed just ismt for some people.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't like it. It's understandable that someone's first time smoking wouldn't be what they expected. And of course, since it's your first time, no one expects you to be able to take a perfect hit, it's natural to take too big or too little a hit, even for an experienced smoker. You have to adjust your lungs to every different pipe you smoke out of. I certainly don't wan't to tell you what to do, but next time your in a comfortable environment, with friends you trust, maybe try it again. Remember, cannabis isn't like other drugs, and potency differes from one strain to another. It's possible you smoked a strain your body just dosen't like, it's happened to me before, and I've been smoking for 6 years.

I know you'd reasonably suspect that I didn't inhale it -- but I made sure I did. It just wasn't as potent as that bucket. I don't know if I'll try again, hell, I don't know why I'm even thinking of going over to that apartment again. I'm out of my mind.

I smoked alot on 4/20 too but i think your other meds will be effecting your high alot especially tramadol an opiate and i think maybe if you ingest the weed it will be better because thats what people with chronic pain usually do with weed. There are loads of recipes on the Internet and the high is different slow acting and must more bodily which is what you want.

The upsides being not smoking and better effect for what you want it for. Sorry to hear that you got taken advantage of you should be around at least one person you trust when getting in any kind of state that you are out of control i woud say. Hopefully that is some help to you.

You're definately not the only one that experiences stuff like that from weed. I started getting experiences like that over time, over heavy use with other drugs. One time I had not smoked in almost a year, and then did a bucket like you mentioned. I went nearly catatonic looking from the outside perspective, but in my mind I was way out there. My cat moved across my field of vision and it felt like my body flattened and started moving in a sine wave sideways in time with the cats walk 8( Then came the shakes. Scary stuff. Good news is one hit nearly always gets me where I want to be whenever I smoke. Just remember to give it time to affect you and take it slow, especially if you are on meds, and it gets pretty enjoyable.

sounds like a panic attack. It sucks. I know. I remember one of my negative experiences being almost the same. I remember getting the shakes later that night too. The only thing is that i kept smoking weed after that and now i really don't regret that night. My good experiences surpass that bad one by a land slide.

First off, I hope you are dealing with the guy in a righteous way.

Good luck in the future! Bad trips are no fun, but one usually learns much from them.

If this jerk took advantage of you it may also be that he loaded the jug with PCP or some other substance mixed in with the pot. Did it have a funny chemically or plastic taste?
