I finally tried a firecracker the other day. Didn't taste that bad at all actually; not good but not bad either. Just tasted like bits of green vegetable matter in peanut butter to me :P

It took a while to kick in. I kept thinking I hadn't used enough, but after about an hour and ten minutes I started to feel something. At first I wrote it off to being tired, but it built really slowly over the next hour. It's weird; it really sneaks up on you, it's not like smoking where you're peaking right after you put the jay down. Anyway I decided to go fishing with one of my more redneckish friends. We smoked a skinny blunt and he was high, but at this point I knew I was way too high for it to have just been the one-gram blunt (considering my tolerance). It was definitely different from a normal weed high I think; it seemed like there was less of a weird mindfuck to it. I mostly just felt like a bodybuzz, and everything looked weird.

We walked around a lot, fishing here and there along the Rivanna River (didn't catch anything though) and smoking cigarettes, and we ended up smoking another two joints. After those two joints I was incredibly gone. The firecrackers were peaking right as we were smoking. I was rocking back and forth rhythmically and uncontrollably, something that hasn't happened to me for a while. I wish I could describe the stone more . . . I'm so used to it that it's kind of hard for me to describe. It's like a heavy haze was over my head, which separated me from everything else, and everything looked like it was photo-shopped in. Like a poster-board reality. Just a normal heavy stone for me.

My friend had to leave but for some reason at this point I think the firecrackers kicked in way stronger. It may have been lack of sleep too. I ended up sitting down in these nasty woods behind a ghetto when it was 25 degrees out and lying down for an hour and a half. That whole period was very intense and hard to remember. There was a radiator in a nearby yard that kept making this "SHWING!" noise and I felt the vibrations of the sound moving through my bones. I couldn't tell where the tree ended and the water began. I kept interpreting my visual data as a pattern instead of a real scene, i.e. I'd see a tree and a river but I'd perceive it as a weird little pattern that looks like a gnome, with those roots as his moustache.

Anyway I don't remember how I came out of this daze. My back is still sore from lying on those damn rocks in those damn woods. I walked to some steps and read One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, still to stoned to feel like making my way home in the cold. After another hour I just felt a normal high, and I walked home, and took a nice hot bath and smoked some more to ease the comedown =D

It wasn't hard to make them. I spread organic peanutbutter, making sure to get all the oils, on these weird whole-wheat crackers. Put the weed on half and sandwiched them together. I used enough to cover four of them, but I think it would've worked out to 2 saltine's worth (and it was really killer mids, light green lightly seeded and had visible trichomes). I wrapped them in aluminum foil, cooked at 325 for 23 minutes, and ate them the next morning.

All in all, I loved firecrackers, and I'll definitely do them again some time. The high was remarkably relaxed. Usually if I was that stoned from smoking, I'd just be getting a *little* bit panicky, but this was absolutely relaxing. I don't think it took that much either, though I don't know if I'd have gotten as high if I hadn't smoked with it.

sweet report. I once made a hefty batch of firecrackers before getting on a plane ride back from new mexico with my brother.

pretty trippy buzz like you describe.
