Since I started tripping I've gotten CEVs quite often smoking weed...
At first I didn't know how much I liked it, but I've slowly come to really enjoy and look forward to it. It adds a new dimension to weed to me.
Do you guys get CEVs too? How often do you get CEVs after toking/eating an edible.

Yes I also always get CEVs from herb, and sometimes minor OEVs but they're not really like the ones you get from LSD or mushrooms. I never really got them before I started tripping since I was smoking midgrade and schwag. By the time I started smoking high quality herb as a late teenager I had already taken LSD once and eaten a large dose of herb.

I also have really tripped off of herb when it's an excellent Sativa/Sativa dominant strain, when I've vaporized it, when I've eaten a large dose 2-3g. I have also gotten Synesthesia from smoking an excellent Indica/Indica dominant strain. I have also tripped on excellent Spanish hash and it also gave me an auditory hallucination or it made someone's voice completely change into another voice of a person who I knew; but that can happen from herb and I've met people who had this also happen. Sometimes if I smoke or now vaporize certain types of good herb it will put me in the mindstate that I get from a low dose of mushrooms and it does remind me of a mushroom trip, such when you don't eat a moderate or large dose and you don't really see major visuals but you ate a low dose of mushrooms and you're tripping and see minor visuals. I know other people who were/are into tripping and smoking herb who have had the same thing happen from just smoking herb, eating it, or vaporizing it and it also reminds them of a low dose mushroom trip. Cannabis is a psychedelic.

I've done tons of psychedelics and certainly hit 4/4 out of body experiences with plenty of them -- but I still never understood anyone caring about CEVs. I get CEVs when I close my eyes and put pressure on them O.o

What were your OBEs like while on psychedelics? I have never had them while tripping but when I ate a lot of herb on Leary biscuits it felt like I was going to have one but I did not and instead it felt like I was just floating/spinning around in the air but I was not out of my body. The OBEs I have had happened while I was sober and I was having lucid dreams and had them then. When I was younger and learning about lucid dreaming and how to have an OBE all the information about OBEs I read said how you can have them while lucid dreaming. If we are going off topic feel free to PM me or make a new topic about OBEs on drugs and while sober.

I've gotten both CEV and OEV on weed ever since i've started taking psychedelics frequently. They are mildly colorful and seem to be a mix of tryptamine and phenethylamine visuals, which I have been taking a lot. I wonder what neurochemical mechanism is responsible for this..

I've read THC by itself is very much a psychedelic compound, and that sativas are more likely to achieve these results.

I always got CEVs when toking. Especially when I'm in a dark room, I can see very delicate geometric patterns.

I generally use a tincture when I'm trying to get blazed and it's normally less than once a month.

That way, when I do it's more like tripping then getting high, but without most unwanted emotional side effects of tripping. I would never go back to smoking daily simply because the enjoyable effects are reduced very much like using mushrooms daily.

a couple of years ago i went from being an all-day everyday smoker to blazing only occasionally, usually in the evening and almost exclusively alone. it was precisely because the feeling i was getting from cannabis was increasingly psychedelic. when i first started blazing (about eight years ago), i found it a great social drug that reduced my anxiety and didn't seriously impair my cognitive functioning, beyond the obvious memory issues. but more and more it began to feel like i was tripping and it made social situations very uncomfortable. it got to the point that about fifty percent of the time i smoked weed i had a "bad trip," though of course it wasn't as intensely/paralyzingly awful as with a traditional psychedelic, so it took me awhile to accept the change and give up social smoking.

i also found that the decrease in tolerance that came with cutting back (which included a couple periods of not smoking at all for a few months at a time) meant that when i did smoke even extremely small amounts (like a single hit off a joint) i would get intensely high and "trip out." this is awesome for laying in bed at night and listening to music before going to sleep, but not at all conducive to socializing or any kind of productivity.

i am unsure what brought this about; whether it was just a change in the way my brain reacts to cannabis or (as i rather suspect) a result of long-term heavy opiate use. i have used plenty of psychedelics (shrooms, lsd, MDxx, many research chems and dissociatives) but was never a heavy user of them, so i do not think it likely that use of those substances is responsible. although i smoke weed most nights, i do so in a setting that doesn't require any interaction with other people. the big exception (which i believe lends credence to my hypothesis that opiate use has altered the effect of cannabinoids on my brain) is when i am under the influence of such a chemical as well. when i have ingested a small amount of suboxone or a low dose of oxy or a similiar drug, weed acts as it once did: stimulating thought and helping me to form interesting and new connections between ideas and i become extremely conversational and relaxed, able to communicate openly and freely and without the overwhelming paranoia and sense of distorted reality i usually get with pot alone. in these situations, i love smoking with other people, and can even smoke larger amounts than i usually would without the undesirable (to me) side effects. but this is fairly rare, as i really try to limit my opiate use these days. being a junkie is a hell like no other.

edit: jeez, sorry for the crazy-long post. just got me thinking, i guess. and i faield to even address the main issue of CEVs. 8) no, that is not one of the psychedelic effects i get from smoking. it is entirely mental: strangely altered perception, the feeling that i am experiencing a totally different reality than those around me.

I think there is some serious research going on now to make many more different and potent kinds of weed. Just last week I smoked "medical grade" from a dispensary called Trainwreck...it was the craziest weed I ever smoked! One hit was all I needed. I know people have been cross breeding for years, but I think there is a lot more money being invested in experiments and research....

I actually tripped really hard off of weed last night... Really strange. I've been smoking weed daily for about a year and a half now, and I recently had to quit due to losing my job. Obviously I didn't quit cold turkey, but I went from smoking at least a gram a day of high quality cannabis to weening myself off it, then straight stopping for a week or so.

So, last night a friend of mine and I picked up some extremely dank stuff! And I hadn't smoked in a week, so my cannabinoid receptors were deprived I guess! Cause I got as high as I did back when I first started smoking again. I took 4 huge rips from the bong over the course of an hour and couldn't believe how extremely STONED I was.

Anyway, as my friend is about to drive me home, I'm sitting in his car and staring at some trees. All of a sudden they started waving hard as fuck! Then they were warping and morphing and I saw CLEAR geometric patterns moving around in them like catepillars made of octagons or something.

I got home and my eyes were extremely red and my pupils were actually dilated. It was impossible for me to focus my vision very well and everytime my vision went blurry, I would get the visuals again. My walls were moving and my ceiling was a freaking ocean of lines of colors.

I think the deprivation of weed + getting so high triggered my HPPD like crazy. The visuals seemed like a mix of all the hallucinogens I've had the chance to go hard on lol. It was like a mix of 2C-I, DXM, and MDMA all together. Fucking insane...

Forgive me if I rambled, I got high again tonight. :P

I feel as if other drugs besides MJ are getting more psychedelic as well. The other day I smoked a lot of weed and hit a nitrous balloon, IT WAS LIKE A FUCKING DMT BREAKTHROUGH. Total ego death, and I was seeing intense kaleidoscopic visuals throughout the experience. I wonder what kind of neurochemical mechanism is responsible for this.

a while back i abused 2c-b too a dailyfor3weeks kind of level, and i get OEV geometric red/blue/yellow/green patterns over anything dark or black. im about a year and a half clean of most harder drugs. the oev's are omnipresent, more present when sleep deprived or super stoned. normal stoning doesnt really increase them for me, but like i said, there always there just in the darkness haha. so im not sure if i ever got oev's with just weed before, but good weed definitely makes the visions stronger.

i get visuals from just weed. ive never done psychedelics, but if im smoking really potent shit ill get pulsing waves of euphoria, OEVs that completely block my vision, audial hallucinations and many other psychedelic effects including but not limited to altered thought patterns. you just have to get high enough bro. this happens a lot for me with really good but, like medical quality shit.

Weed started getting more psychedelic after I started tripping, but never visual as such... until about a week ago when I had a large spliff that was too big to roll so it was made into a spliff and a did, a pure blunt a lot of tincture, 8 brownies (that were weak made from the remnants of hash used for the tincture) 4 or 5 bong hits and then a vaporizer. Wow did I get high. I had visuals alright, I was the highest I've ever been of anything. My vision sort of slowed its refresh rate to a couple of frames per second so there was a significant delay when I moved me head even slowly. The visuals themselves weren't really like anything I've done (which isn't much to be fair, just acid 2c-b, lsa, shrooms and amt)... In fact I have a hard time remembering because I was so high. But the room sort of looked different... I can't really explain how just different. It also kept on changing from having a warm yellow glow that made me physically feel warm, to a more greyish hue that would suck all the warmth from my body and then back again every couple of minutes or so.
