Cannabis and Alcohol?

Hello,

I had always assumed that cannabis and alcohol when taken together would have the harms of both separate drugs, but a friend recently told me that when taken together they can have negative effects not present with either independently - i.e. neurotoxicity. Is this true? What are the dangers of combining alcohol and weed?

It's the oldest combo known to human history, it's not very harmful at all. You are very safe.

Not dangerous at all but it's very easy to get the spins and puke. Just don't over do it

this combo is how I've spent every day of my life for the last 4 years until I started taking tramadol. It's awesome. and I still pick one day a week to not take tram and smoke and drink myself to sleep. but I gotta say taking tram is probably better for me than drinking 6 beer every single day.

well i mean i dont think theyve done a lot of actual research on the combo have they? just because its an old combo doesnt mean that the negative effects together are the same as apart. right? i know coke and alcohol is supposed to be more harmful than either alone couldnt it be the same with weed and alcohol? i mean i know that weed and alcohol isnt going to do any obvious damage but that doesnt mean its harmless. anybody read any studies on the combo?

The combo is definitely safe, with just the normal precautions that apply to alcohol. Cannabis is pretty benign (chemically speaking) with just about anything, and since you're not taking other depressants, moderate alcohol should be no problem.

That being said, I don't think the combo superb, unless you get it just right. The alcohol diminishes the mental aspects of the cannabis high, and is only really good for calming any latent paranoia if you smoke too much, or falling asleep. It can be fun, but it takes practice, and the right environment.

However, I tend not to enjoy alcohol much by itself, so this is probably just me.
