I'm curious if anyone has done more in depth research on this topic, or has personal experience and can better explain what/why this happens.

I call it allergy, since I have issues with people saying "Oh well you just aren't smoking the right type" if I say I'm too sensitive or have bad reactions.

I have never had a pleasant experience smoking cannabis. I've done it maybe 30 to 40 times in my life, and many different qualities. Cheapest "dirt" weed and really high quality "hydro".

The only one that didn't give me a completely bad experience was when I took just -one- hit of the dirt weed, and even then, I smoked 5 more hits, and I was too messed up for the next 8 hours and completely miserable.

Here are the effects I get:

Low Dose (being in same room with contact high or 1 or 2 hits of very low quality):
- Horrible short term memory
- Really strong hunger
- Anxiety
- Mind fog

Moderate Dose (a few hits of low quality or 1 hit of hydro)
- Lose ability to move or speak without a lot of effort.
- Almost no short term memory (forget who I am, what I'm doing, where I'm at, and thoughts stay for only a fraction of a second)
- Feels like my head is buzzing (mind fog + static white noise type feeling)
- My eyes feel highly pressured and extremely uncomfortable
- Slight nausea

High Dose (3 or 4 hits of hydro)
- Same as above plus:
- Body feels extremely heavy
- Extreme motion sickness nausea, and I feel like I'm spinning in circles. If I move, I throw up immediately, if I sit perfectly still I'll still throw up after a bit because the nausea continually gets worse until I do.
- Intense anxiety/paranoia (doesn't help that people are usually thinking I'm making all this up... until I throw up at least)

So... questions:

1. What is more likely, or which of the following is possible: Is this all a response to the THC, or some other plant enzyme/chemical.

2. Has anyone been allergic to cannabis, but found they were not allergic to other cannibinoids?

3. Has anyone been allergic to cannabis, but found some other ROA did not trigger the negative effects? (Brownies for instance)

4. Why does everyone smoker I meet so strongly want to smoke with me when I tell them I'm like this!? Sadists >_<; (Rhetorical joke question)

5. Would the best analogy of the effects of cannabis be that of a benzo/mild dissociative? I obviously can't experience what most people experience, and that's the best guess I've come to at what other people feel based on description/personal experience.

You are definitely not 'allergic' to cannabis. An allergic reaction would cause symptoms such as a swollen and irritated throat, hives or problems breathing. All the symptoms you described come with smoking cannabis for different people. It sounds as if you just don't get along with the herb very well, but I wouldn't put this down to an allergy! Try some different strains - some indica, some sativa and some hybrids if you want to find something that agrees with you better, but you might have to accept that it just might not suit you very well.

Yeah I edited my post to explain why I called it an allergy before you responded.

I get harassed to much if I say I'm over-sensitive to it. "Oh come on, you need to smoke with me, those other people just weren't doing it right".

Or people say the same thing you did:

Try some different strains - some indica, some sativa and some hybrids if you want to find something that agrees with you better, but you might have to accept that it just might not suit you very well.

I just stay away from it, I have no desire to smoke it, but it does trigger my curiosity at times and I like to ask smokers questions.

people react differently to differently drugs, cannabis doesn't work for you, bout all there is to it.

I used to feel pretty much the same way as you about weed but them I learned to appreciate it more after sticking with it. I doubt you have tried very many strains when you refer to it as 'dirt' and 'hydro' (how do you even know it was grown hydroponically? I take it you know the grower?).

Even though the OP's issue is sort of settled I'll comment for anyone else interested in their questions. I developed an allergy to oral cannabis after years of eating it and being fine. It's just a matter of sufficient exposure until and over-reactive immune system develops allergies (I only smoked like once a week, too, but for like a decade). It's not an allergy to cannibinoids but rather, I suspect, to a protein in the plant matter (just like some other plant allergies). I believe the heat from the flame when smoking destroys the culprit protein. Vaporizing is fine. too -- I imagine because the proteins aren't vaporized. Symptoms of oral use are hives, chest pain, and swollen sinuses. Pot needs to be legalized so pure full spectrum cannabinoid extract is more accessible and I can get the delta-11 trippier experience again, dammit.

Spoken for pure truth, especially in this case.

Everyone is different, and even though pot does the same shit to most everyone's brain, we all react differently. I've never been much of a drinker, i get sick easily, and dont get much euphoria, but most people love it! The same thing can be applied to anything.

If you dont like how you feel on pot after giving it plenty of chances, then its just not for you!
