Im not a regular weed smoker. So i know my tolerance is little to nothing. But i went through quite a trip.. Before this experience, i was only genuinely high on marijuana one time. Which was about a week prior to this, but i was also doped up on some adderall during that time. So i decided to smoke some weed by itself with a friend of mine. This is my story.

My buddy got some really good weed, straight from colorado. Its the same kind i smoked the time before, but last time i only smoked about half a blunt, which was shared between him and i. After school he picked me up to head over to his house to go match. Completely sober at this time, and excited to get nice and baked again with him. We arrived at his house, and he grabbed the blunt. It was packed a lot heavier than last time. So we went out to the side of his house to go light it up. I took some huge drags, and held it in for like 10 seconds each. After the second hit, i could already feel it kicking in. I knew i should of probably stopped after a few hits, considering i only weigh like 120ibs and have little to no tolerance. But i kept taking more hits and smoked that blunt like a champ. You better believe i was coughing like all hell.

After we finished the blunt, we headed back into his house. I remember he was stumbling when he walked up his front door step. We got into his living room and i remember seeing that his walls looked very smooth. I payed it no mind though and continued through his house. Went up the stairs and into his room. Took a chug of mountain dew and sat down on his chair.. I was really high. I was talking to him, but i remember i was having trouble speaking. I wanted to say that i think i smoked too much, but i couldnt figure out how to talk correctly. I remember him turning a portable heater on because apparently it was cold in his room. When he did that, everything felt familiar. Like it was dejavu. It doesnt help that the last time we were high together we were in the same room though. But it felt all too familiar.

Things were getting weird. He turned the tv on and i began watching it. Everything faded around me and it all focused on the tv. I believe he had the news on, but i dont really remember since i was paying more attention to the thoughts in my head than the actual tv show. But after awhile. I stopped thinking and i noticed something was wrong. I was confused. The tv screen was frozen like he paused it. And i couldnt hear anything but my heartbeat. My body was completely paralyzed. I couldnt move or feel anything. I felt like a empty soul just staring at a paused tv. I didnt understand what was happening. And i started panicking. I then remember a movement. I didnt just see the tv screen in one place anymore. It was like i was looking and moving my head from point A to point B. But it kept looping itself. It was like i was watching a short movie clip that instantly replayed itself once it finished. And replayed it over and over and over again.

Next thing you know im staring at a window. And i feel like complete shit. I still cant move, all i see is this window. I didnt know what was happening, i just knew i fucked up and shouldnt of smoked that. I believe i ended up passing out then, and i remember having a crazy dream. I just dont remember what that dream was about. But i woke up in a different loop. I saw my friend. The loop was me moving and looking from the window to my friend. And itd repeat over and over again. My heart beating so fast, and my body felt numb, but in pain like i was being pricked with billions of little needles. I saw this loop countless times, i was so sick of it. Then i heard my friend say. "youre just having a bad trip, everythings going to be ok". I instantly felt some relief. Like he knew what i was going through and that this was normal. Everything still looping. I still dont know how to move my body. Still paralyzed. I wanted to die. I ended up thinking i was dead. I even started saying it.

But then he said "just shut your eyes". Out of nowhere i felt the power to do so. So i shut them and just listened to him. I then found the power to move my body. But i couldnt feel my body until i moved it. So i slid my body across the floor until i could feel everything. The loops felt like a puzzle, and my friend was just helping me solve it. He told me to breathe in and out slowly.. So i did. And i finally came out of it. I felt like i just got out of a puzzle. I was in a hole, that was the bad trip and i just got out of it, it was finished.. But it turns out i was far from finished. I was ok for a minute. I layed down on the floor and fell asleep. Had another crazy dream.. But i saw the meaning of the universe. It all made sense at the time. It was crazy. I saw the light. I saw heaven and hell and the place between. I cant really explain it.

And then i woke up, i saw the same loop i saw before. Atleast i thought it was the same. So i figured if i would move my body fast enough i can feel things again and get out of the loop quicker. So i moved my body fast as i can to get it over with. But the loop started to be different. I ended up kicking something off my friends table, i was kicking the walls and freaking out and almost busted his tv, which i thought i was just solving the puzzle to get out of the loop. I ended up losing function and forgetting how to control my body. And i was already moving. So i was constantly moving, sliding across the floor in circles. My friend started talking to me and he got me out of it slowly. My mouth was then completely dry. And we had a conversation while i layed on my back. Almost sufficating, could barely speak. We were talking, and i started to lose my memory. I forgot i was talking, and i wouldnt remember what either of us said after a half of a second. I made him keep talking to me so i knew something finally wasnt looping. But i remember everything i saw was blur. And i forgot how to shut my eyes. Id figure something out, it made a black ball appear on my vision. But i related that to hell and backed away from it thinking that is how you die.

Eventually i got a little better again. And i made my friend grab my drink for me so i could drink it before the drug kicks in again. After i drank it i had enough power to actually move a little bit. My friend asked if i wanted to sit back in the chair. I said sure so he helped me get back up in it. I could still barely feel anything. I made him still talk to me to keep me sane. So we just had random conversations that we both forgot in a few minutes. Everything around me was blurry, and it was skipping. Like a low frame rate. Everything except my friend. So i had to constantly stare at my friend awkwardly to keep myself sane so i dont fall back into a loop. He reminded me of the devil. And my brain was playing tricks on me. Making me believe he was the devil and i should never talk to him again after this. It probably had to do with his eyes being dillated and him wearing all black. Every 2 minutes id ask him how much time has passed since we smoked. Because each 2 minutes literally felt like 2 hours or longer. And it would proove to me that time actually exists. Because it surely didnt feel like it.

I was in a completely different world at this time. I ended up feeling a little better again, so i got up to go piss. I almost passed out in the process.. I entered back in the room feeling better.. But then i can sense a loop coming back. Things started to repeat. So i sat back down and stared at him again, and that prevented it from happening again. He turned the tv on. I refused to watch it because i knew id fall back into a loop again. But i noticed if i turned my eyes towards the tv, everything looked really crazy. It was all cartoon like. And it made his room look really small. His room literally looked like a toy house. But the longer i looked at the tv the smaller his room got. So i had to look away because i was doing everything i could to prevent myself from going back into a loop.

He ended up leaving to go take a piss.. But when he came back. I started tripping. The wall behind him had like whirlpools in it, with sparkles. And it was wobbling and flashing purple. And he became like 2D, everything was zooming in and out and the wall had beautiful geometry patterns and colors i couldnt ever imagine. I was freaking out. Like "duuuddee! Im seeing colors!" and he refused to believe me. He thought i was messing with him when i was being completely honest. His room was wobbling like crazy.. Eventually the hallucinations stopped. And things got better. Better enough for me to walk. We went to mcdonalds and ate.. Sitting in mcdonalds i can sense myself almost going back into a loop. So i would keep moving myself to make sure i didnt. I probably looked like a drug addict... I ended up going home later and fell asleep.. And that was the end of the trip. It sucked at the time, i thought i was going to die.

Can anyone explain what may have caused this trip? It was terrible.

I would strongly suggest that you edit this to contain paragraphs, as most people will simply back out of the thread once they see that huge wall of text.

Anyway, what caused the trip is that you smoked strong weed with no tolerance lol. Weed is a very psychedelic substance, and for some reason that has mostly slipped under the radar of common knowledge. Everything that you described is completely normal for someone is very very high without any tolerance, though I would say you seem more sensitive to it still than many. If you still smoke weed regularly, those particularly trippy effects will disappear with time; for me they were completely gone in about three months, and I'm pretty sensitive to weed too. These days I can still regain those effects by smoking out of like a massive bong or a gas mask, but usually those trips are reserved to oral experiences or synthetic cannabinoids. Anyway, there was nothing odd about your experience, it just means that you need to smoke less next time and until your tolerance goes up if you don't want to get that high.

If you read through some trip reports on serotonergic psychedelics you will find many of these same themes, such as looping and colorful hallucinations. Things such as this are actually considered a regular component of the psychedelic experience, and hence weed's classification as a psychedelic. Something that more people need to be aware of as weed becomes more legal, and that I'm sure you won't soon forget! You can actually find stories mirroring this of people who went to Colorado to try weed for the first time as well, and ended up taking huge doses. It's actually a pretty common story, just because people always think that weed is supposed to be a much milder drug.

Ah thank you. I also heard it may be possible for me to attract the more psychedelic parts of cannabis due to my prior LSD use. I was unaware how powerful marijuana is, that trip was least expected. Lol.

Much nicer. :) And no problem. Oh and yeah, that adds an extra dimension to it. Nearly everyone finds that weed becomes more psychedelic the more you use serotonergic psychedelics; things like light visuals a somewhat more of a mind warp become more common. I can at least say that the more often I trip, the more these things build up until I take a break again. If you've used LSD then you definitely are even more likely to get those effects from weed. I'm actually really intrigued by that thought now! I'm trying to imagine experiencing a weed trip for the first time with those psychedelic-added effects already instead of as something that appeared later, seems like it would make it seem more real.... Honestly if you're already into using psychedelics I would try approaching weed as a psychedelic with lower doses to see how you like it. Introspective highs are really nice for me and can even lead to very spiritual moments. You may find that your sensitivity is a blessing.

Yes, I consider my sensitivity a blessing. Especially financially, lol. I think the environment had a lot to do with the trip being bad. We were in his room the whole time, and his room is pretty run down and dark. If I would of known weed had such psychedelic effects, I would of taken it outside. I mean, nobody likes taking LSD inside a dark house. That's just asking for a bad trip.

lol i wish weed did that to me i mean a few times i have felt kind of trippy off weed but nothing like this lol mostly vary slight cev mixed with some anxiety

If weed will kill you , i will be on first plane to meet Jesus and his friends .

I would not attribute these effects directly to cannabis like most people here seem to do. It sounds more like the intensity of and confusion caused by the cannabis effects triggered a psychotic break. It's not unlikely you are prone to psychosis if you react like that to cannabis. You should probably steer clear of drugs. It might have just been too much pot, but 'better safe than sorry', right?

That was a very entertaining report though! <3

DUDE something gave you some fucking synthetic weed it sounds like, look it up, people sell it to amateur smokers that DONT know what they are buying! SYNTHETIC weed will kill you, cuss it has chemicals mixed with it

Could be, but marijuana can cause the types of effects described for those without experience in it, especially at large dosages. Smoking a whole blunt of Colorado kind bud is certainly a high dose. I'd say the possibility of it being synthetic cannabinoids is pretty small considering the source. Lots of people tend to downplay the possibility of really intense weed experiences but they can and do happen.
