Does Candy Flipping increase neurotoxic damage?

"Activation of the 5HT2A receptor with another psychedelic is a frequently used protocol described in detail in PIHKAL. Interestingly, this activation is also implicated in the neurotoxicity, suggesting that risk may be increased by taking a psychedelic prior to or even after consumption of MDMA. The connection between 5HT2A activation and neurotoxicity is poorly understood, but is associated with the subsequent increase in DA synthesis and release leading to oxidative stress."

Who knows? Looks like there is a theoretical rationale that lacks empirical underpinning and thus, it is 'poorly understood.'

Probably, but probably not as much as redosing or other combos like MDMA/amphetamine.

Probably not as much as re-dosing? I'd like to believe that since I'm probably never re-dosing again. I've only had a bad comedown the one time I re-dosed. Any ideas on why it's not as neurotoxic as re-dosing or amph combo?

I'm aware of the amph combo issues, but assuming that body temperature is controlled can one just assume that a psychedelic + MDMA would be less neurotoxic? I suppose it is poorly understood, but it does state that there is an increase in dopamine synthesis. I guess the question would be by how much does it increase. One could assume that a psychedelic wouldn't flood the synapse with as much dopamine as an amph does. I answered my own question.

It simply makes sense that two drugs would be more damaging than one, but I don't think a psychedelic would do near as much damage as an amphetamine either. Most are non-toxic anyways, but increased receptor activation and possibly potentiation of the MDMA would seem to lead to increased damage than either drug alone to me.

I sure don't worry about it, though. I took LSD + MDMA + ketamine on Saturday night and felt alright the next day even after no sleep. Slept for 14 hours and felt like SHIT in the morning, had to miss school. Got some food in me and I feel alright now though, was surely the 48 hours of druggery combined with little sleep and next to no food that had me feeling so bad.

I like that idea -- the increased receptor activation. LSD + MDMA + K seems insane haha. I still haven't found the opportunity to embrace the magic known as candy flipping despite starting a couple threads on it. Everything seemed to have worked out though and my first time will be at an outdoor EDM festival where one of my favourite DJs will be performing. Outdoors in the sun, favourite DJ, first time candy flipping -- I can't imagine the feeling.

I suppose I was interested in the pharmacology behind candy flipping. Not much is known, but I wanted to read some educated speculations.
