Canada's doctors decline to join anti-marijuana campaign
CBC
August 16th, 2014

The main groups representing Canadian doctors have declared they will not participate in Health Canada's upcoming anti-drug campaign targeting young people.

“The educational campaign has now become a political football on Canada's marijuana policy,” said a joint statement released Saturday by the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), Canadian Medical Association (CMA) and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

“We did not, and do not, support or endorse any political messaging or political advertising on this issue.”

The release said all three organizations had been “invited to co-brand and provide expert advice” on the public campaign, initiated and funded by Health Canada.

This would mean the groups would have their logos along with endorsements emblazoned on all the advertising.

The Conservatives put out a partisan attack ad to paint Trudeau as a loony who wants children to smoke pot, and Health Canada decides to start an anti-cannabis public health campaign at the same time, claiming that it has no partisan aims and is simply trying to educate the populace. Bullshit!

Shame on you Ambrose. You are seriously no better than your master.

Have you ever taken the opportunity to notify Canadians that after decades of studies, ethanol (alcohol) - regardless of the amount consumed - is now officially listed as a Group 1 Carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer, and the World Health Organization? I'm gonna go ahead and bet you haven't.

Just so anyone else reading this knows, other examples of Group 1 Carcinogens include asbestos, arsenic, formaldehyde, mustard gas, and various radioactive isotopes.

Re. "Do no harm" - Tell us, how much harm is done each day due to your obsession with controlling the possession of a plant which is about as risky to consume as a couple cups of coffee?

How many families' lives are (and have been) ruined due to your bureaucratic lackeys who lock up otherwise law abiding, non-violent individuals because they don't prefer alcoholic beverages in order to "take the edge off?"

To suit your draconian views on a plant which has been consumed for thousands of years without hampering the advancement of our collective societies, you have attempted to gain the support of physicians from around the nation into your political charade driven by concerns having absolutely nothing to do with health concerns!

This is about money, and you know it, and many others on both sides know it, so drop the act already, as it's pathetically obvious.

Continue to persecute Canadians who wish to consume such a low-risk plant and I promise you that new information will soon become public, which will further shed some light into the biased, deceitful manner in which you and your ilk attempt to pass off b.s. as "scientific fact."

4+ decades of this futile madness wasn't enough for you? 4+ decades of absolutely zero progress hasn't dissuaded you from maintaining the status quo?

When will it end? When the severed heads of innocent civilians and police officers start to show up by the dozens in urban areas? Because that's the reality of the situation right now south of the border. And it'll soon cross into Canada, but you know that.

Regardless of your intentions, you should know that the ability to directly influence the federal laws and policies of this nation in order to suit your needs is no longer a possibility (and it never should have been). And the same goes for trying to further spread misinformation and propaganda as has been the norm for what, 43 years now?

Don't you get it Rona? It appears that you're a shining example of a hypocrite. And in this so-called Information Age, word tends to spread a lot faster than you may be used to.

And do you really think that those of us who wish to consume parts of the Cannabis Sativa plant will bother to be persuaded by your disparate, politically-motivated opinions regarding CERTAIN drugs? The answer would be a big fat no, and it will always remain that way, so get with the program, or go away.

2015 cannot come soon enough. So many Canadians are frankly sick and tired of having to deal with the likes of you. It'll be a huge cause for celebration to witness your political career going the way of the Dodo - recreational marijuana use included.
