Former partner of Bacon brother gets 3-1/2 years on cocaine conspiracy

VANCOUVER — A British Columbia truck driver admitted Monday he was stupid to get involved with a high-profile gang figure, the father of his grandchild, in a scheme to import Mexican cocaine into Canada, but his contrition didn’t prevent a judge from sentencing him to 3-1/2 years in prison.

Wayne Scott, 56, of Abbotsford was convicted earlier this year along with Jarrod Bacon of conspiracy to traffic cocaine. The pair were busted in a reverse-sting operation in which a police agent offered to sell 100 kilograms of cocaine for $3 million.

Bacon, one of three brothers the police have accused of being gangsters, was in a relationship with Scott’s daughter and the couple had a son together.

Scott insisted he was merely a go-between who put Bacon in touch with a former co-worker. He also argued he was manipulated by his former work colleague, who it turned out was working as a police agent, to do something that was completely out of character.

The judge agreed Scott likely wouldn’t have entered such a conspiracy had it not been for the “accidents” of fate that saw him associating with Bacon and his friend-turned-police agent. But the judge added Scott nonetheless participated in the conspiracy willingly.

3 1/2 years for conspiracy to traffic cocaine? Remind me whenever I decide to quit my day job and start trafficking columbian coke=D8), to do it and get busted in Canada and NOT the U.S.

Undercover cops can offer to sell multi-kilogram quantities of drugs AND look to purchase the same as well??? WTF. Do police then just go around pretending to have all these kilos and offer them up for purchase to any joe blow who looks shady? The next day or the same day, they're arrested for trying to purchase drugs for distribution blah blah etc BUT, its from a cop?? They claim that they never had any actual blow to sell or anything like that and that it was just flour bricked up blah blah blah. I go to jail for simply having flour bag'd up ready for sale in my pocket. Bullshit

I am waiting for undercover cops to offer to sell millions of dollars of (fake) drugs to undercover cops who pretend to want to buy them. Then, they both try to arrest each other. =D
Of course, this may have already happened. If so, there is little chance we would ever get to know about it.
