Business is booming for online synthetic drug trade
CBC
December 4th, 2013

A credit card and a click of the mouse are all that’s required to get drugs delivered right to your doorstep — and it’s usually completely legal.

Synthetic-drug trafficking has moved far beyond the cliché of a drug dealer hanging out in a dark alley, and authorities have not been able to contain its proliferation.

Radio-Canada’s Enquête team contacted a Shanghai-based drug producer in China. Of the 100 or so different products he suggested, the Enquête team purchased 2C-I, a drug banned in a number of European countries but still available in Canada.

Three days later, the drugs arrived in the mail.

As usual, the author doesn't really know what he's/she's talking about. But I'd like to meet those biochemistry students, wow...

It’s a game of Russian roulette, in the end. Last year, 17 teenagers died in British Columbia and Alberta after taking what they believed to be MDMA. However, the chemist who made the drug replaced the MDMA with PMMA, an ingredient which is far stronger.

This writer obviously knows nothing about the chemicals they are reporting on.

I would be so pleased to see one article that comes from the other direction and shows how the government banning drugs to profit off the incarceration of its people causes this entire cat and mouse game in the first place.

There will always be a demand for these drugs whether legal or threw the black market. Its not even really about the drugs, its about the government keeping you small minded and under there control while they grow stronger and richer every day. Every organism on this planet deserves to do as they please and alter there conciousness any way they feel just.

Enough places ban 2c-x class drugs and the Chinese will probably just stop making it. They aren't going to make it for 300 people in Canada. The 2c class drugs are fairly safe anyway and banned in the USA do to hysteria not for any good reasons. If they want to write an article on dangerous designer drugs try writing it about nbomes, which really are dangerous and legal. Health Canada (Canada's version of FDA) are a backdoor to banning substances without actually making them illegal. If any agency has the power to really mess up Canada's RC scene its them. They are not just tyrants, but under control of big pharma.

The Chinese will keep selling as long as it is profitable to do so. You can get anything that you want from the Chinese - at the right price.

The only way that the chemicals will stop flowing is if China does another mass public execution like they did with ketamine several years back but with the improving structure in Chinese government, that doesn't seem likely. Even the public executions only deterred people for a short period of time. They just switched from ketamine to other substances.

2C-B is illegal pretty much everywhere but it still flows like water out of Chinese labs along with mephedrone and other chemicals.

It seems that the days of the research chemical trade are coming to an end though. Vendors already don't ship to the states and those that do are very cautious about what they will and will not send, the UK is cracking down, EU is cracking down.

When Health Canada declares that a drug is illegal, their press releases don't amend the CDSA, so it's essentially meaningless chatter. The most well-known Canadian research-chemical company is still selling mephedrone, which was declared "illegal" by Health Canada years ago.
