Bupe Can you use pupils as an effective gauge?

I was wondering if it were possible to use the pupils size from fully constricted to a wider size to tell if it is time yet to try to use another opioid that you want to use?

I have some oxycodone I want to use and i took 8mg sub on Tuesday at 9pm and 6.5mg on Wednsday at 10am. I wanted to take some roxi's on Friday at around 3-5pm for valentines day with my girl. That is around 50-53 hrs after last dose.

Are the pupils good indicators that it is possible to achieve a high? What do you guys think?

What I usually do is constantly check my pupils and when they are not fully constricted anymore I dose, but I haven't done it in many of test to see if the results can be trusted.

It is one indicator, yes. But you can't base it solely on that. Once you start feeling the beginnings of withdrawal after your last dose of bupe, that's when you'll know for sure you can use another opiate and achieve almost the full high.

50 hours after an 8mg dose sounds like plenty of time.

Well the thing is I dont really feel withdrawals since I use subs for like 2-3 days out the week then stop. I use to feel them after i chewd fent patches but not anymore. Its been awhile since i messed with a full agonist.

The half-life of bupe is an average of 36 hours. So, even if you where right at the average (and you could have a faster metabolism which means the bupe leaves your system faster), at 8mg's, 50 hours is plenty of time.

Bupe has never been strong enough for me for to have any real pinned pupils only the one time I took 24 mg in one evening and drank and took a CWE (vommed) I pinned pupils.

But It's kept me well before(when my hab was smaller) with normal sized pupils with a normal dose of it.

I wouldn't be off put if you're feeling fine but don't have pinned pupils.

Everytime I take it, i get pinned. Usually 2-3 days later i have smaller than normal pupils but they are not what they would be if I hadn't taken anything in 7-14 days.

^Yup... me exactly... I have never taken a dose of bupe that alters my pupils, no matter how high of a dose.

isn't it odd how everyone is different?

Using autonomic functions (like pupil size) as an indicator of how much a drug is effecting you is a bad idea in my book.
Personally, my pupils dont pin until im very high. So pinned pupils for me usually means im pushing it too far.
Conversely, any drug with even a tiny bit of serotonin activity will blow my pupils wide open, even if I dont feel any different.

A safer way of dosing your drugs is to find out the effects-life and half-life of the drugs your using and plan your doses when your so ber and can make rational decisions.

yeah, i gotta be really, really high for my pupils to pin. I do take SSRI's could that be why??? odd??

Pupil size is one of the cardinal symptoms of opiate withdrawal, and second only to blood pressure as far as things a medical professional will look for when gauging when to dose a patient with bupe/methadone..

Even if it doesn't pin your pupils the way your normal, massive recreational dose of heroin does, it will consistently make ones pupils more constricted than a normal persons...it's universal

Edit: also, how big you think your pupils look in the mirror isn't necessarily a good gauge either, because you're probably not experienced at judging pupil sizes all day long, and may not notice a difference unless it's a very dramatic one.

Im the same way..if my pupils are looking pretty constricted then that means I am pretty durn high and have come pretty close to taking too much of an opiate/opioid.

Weird, maybe the long stint of taking only suboxone for awhile and infrequent at that, 2-3 times per week for like 10-14 weeks, has lowered my tolerance to where I dont feel really messed up from it but it does affect me. I am still debating on whether on not to dose the Oxycodone today if my pupil are still constricted, I am wanting to take them around 3-5PM when me and my girl go out to eat for valentines day.

Well, I do stare alot at the size of my pupils, I just love they way they look. I can not not look at my self in the mirror when i go to the bathroom... and usually I spend more time looking at my eyes than I do using the restroom... I'm like a pupil size hobbiest

Some people are just more affected my pupil changes from opiates too. Mine get tiny, tiny. Pinpoints. Hah. Doesn't even take a super amount of an opiate to make it happen either. Other people you can barely tell they're high. Just depends. Also, change in pupil size is also way more noticeable in people with light eyes (mine are very light).

That's why it is not an effective measurement of anything.

I have this odd thing were one of my pupils, my left, stays or is more dilated than my other. So I always look to my left one for answers. Is the MDMA coming on or is the Oxy. When on psychedelics it looks awsome, but on opioids they come together in one size, small...

One pupil dilated more then the other is usually a sign of brain injury...not saying theres anything wrong with you.lol just think its a bit quirky.lol

Is the light in your bathroom on one side of the room?
