Hi Everyone,

I have some good nuggs but they have been in a glass jar for a few months and are completely
dried out. Is there a way to get them a little more moist so the smoking isnt so much like smoking
dried out weed? Am I just going to have to deal with it as it is?

well its the natural oils in the herb that have dried out . If u wet it , ud have to wait for it to dry abit anyway , then it would taste like buds that got wet , which taste low quality and crap . maybe try spraying a small amount of water over them or something , id say just smoke away tho , shitty situation lol .

I've never personally had to do it, but I've heard stories from friends they put the bud in a ziplock Along with like a slice of an orange or sonething and put it in thr refrigerator and that helped.

^ Don't use the fridge, that is just inviting condensation if you open the fridge for food and other things.

I would not recommend rehydrating weed, it just increases the chance of mold while providing no benefits. Properly cured and dry weed tastes better, burns better, and breaks up a bit easier. If your stem bends instead of snapping, then it is too moist, and at risk for going moldy.

Thanks for the above info. I particularly like checking out the stems to see if they snap or bend. I
think I will just have to use it as it is.

This is very true. But if your really, really want to get your pot a little moisty, try putting a slice (a small slice) of an apple in a zip-lock bag (as mention above sans the refrigerator) but don't use all of it, just use as much as you are going to smoke the next day, just to see and try it out.

I personally like my pot a bit dry, not too dry mind you.

EDIT: Mold is always a risk factor, the piece of fruit thing is generally done by rolling tobacco smokers to moisten their stuff. I've done this and it turns your stash to shit, I don't like almost wet tobacco. If you smoke only weed, and no tobacco in your joints, I'd refrain from doing this.

Well fuck it, DO IT, and tell us if it worked out.

Cheers

I like dry weed.

It's easier to handle, and I think it smokes better... I've sure never noticed a change in taste either... honestly I think it tastes a lot better after drying and curing properly

Well then you HAVE tasted a difference, sir.

I do this commonly,
You can put the bud in a ziplock bag and put 5-10 drops of water on the plastic trying not to touch the bud. The condensation moistens ths buds enough but not too much. Or when smoking a bowl put a drop of water on the top of ur bowl, makes your hits smoother and jamacans do it ritualistcally

I thought the standard fix for too-dry weed was to put a little water on a paper towel (on the scale of "drops"), and storing the weed with that to rehydrate it.

Anything which involves directly applying water to weed should not be done, it's likely to result in mold.

lol @ Laika. I think Folley must have made an error/typo!

Rehydrating weed with orange peels, fan leaves etc. placed inside jars used to store the weed works quite well, but you have to be careful not to make it too moist. A moisture percentage of about 10% is about right, so obviously you need to strike the right balance because storing bud that's too moist in an enclosed jar can create the ideal atmosphere for fungus or mold growth to occur, rendering you weed useless because it would be too dangerous to smoke in case it caused or exacerbated any respiratory problems. Moldy weed can also have a detrimental affect on the liver and other vital organs, so avoiding it where possible is very important!

No the weed is properly dried and cured in most of the coffeeshops in A'dam, but as Dutch people like to roll their stuff with tobacco, it's indeed more humid than its American counterparts.
