I dude who has hep c has a baggy of H. He puts water in the baggy to mix it up. He fills his rig first by directly putting it in the baggy and drawing up the water/smack. He then gives me a fresh needle and draws the remain water up into my fresh rig. But here's the thing. I DID'T shoot the H. I got home and sprayed the syringe up my nose. In effect, I snorted it (though it was mixed with water). Can one get Hep C this way? It didn't enter my bloodstream from injection, just got snorted. After all, it is a BLOOD-BORNE virus, and I just put the water up my nose...

you can still get hepatitis c from snorting drugs, especially if you have small tears in the nasal lining.

most heroin is not contaminated with hepatitis, though, it's the people that use it chronically.

Thanks for the reply. I know the guy has hep c and he drew up his rig first (I'm pretty sure it was a fresh rig, but there's still some uncertainty). Anyway, he drew up the rest of the water with my fresh rig, and instead shooting it I squirted it up my nose.

What is the probability of catching Hep C this way? Percentage wise, that is. I read that from a needle-stick injury, the percentage of contracting it is about 1.5%.

It depends on whether or not it's been transfected with blood or other material that's hepatits positive. It could be equally as risky as needle injections if you share snorting implements, for instance.
