can you drink "injetables ampules"?

I was planning on IVing them but the pharmacy sold me some BUNK fucking needles they wont even work(I tried twice and really regret it, i seriously fucked my veins up). Anyway, these are lorazepam injectable USP 4mg/ml, If I drink these instead of injecting them will I still get the effects?

Maybe IM instead of IV? Only because they are ampules.
They probably sold you needles typically used for IM, they are much bigger than ones used for IV(insulin syringes). IM ones are usually around 25g instead of 29g, makes a huge difference. I would imagine that attempting to IV with a 23-25g needle would be very painful and difficult, and if your techinique isn't that great you could do some real damage to yourself.
While they may look the same to the naked eye, it is important to check the guage of your syringes before using them for IV, just look on the bag. It tells you the gauge, IVing with any gauge number smaller than a 27 is very difficult.

Yes, but it would be a massive waste! If you don't want to inject them sell them and use the money to buy drugs for oral use.
 
I agree with omen. Either go buy some syringes suitable for IV or use the ones you got to shoot it into a muscle, or trade it for some pills. Imagine how many lorazepam pills you could get for an ampule.

I was wondering the same thing, what I think happened(I am assuming here) is that the pharmacist assumed he would be using this IM, so he sold him needles that were huge. They probably hurt like hell and couldn't fit in a vein, and might have damaged his veins pretty badly.

But I would like to know what gauge are these needles?

Do doctors even prescribe ampules to be used for IV by the patient themself? Or are all ampules prescribed meant to be used IM? I couldn't see a legitimate doctor telling a person how to properly IV drugs that they are prescribing to them... If all ampules are made for IM administration, they probably always assume that you will be IMing it and will sell you the larger needles. To IV it you would need to buy insulin syringes, not ones a doctor would prescribe along with the ampules.

I believe that some people are prescribed IV medicine that they inject themselves. But it's not something that's done often, and they have to be thought how to do it.

If it was often, they'd get a port-a-cath installed. Mmmm port-a-cath... :drools: /Homer
 
But would it be safe to assume that almost all ampules prescribed are meant for IM use?

Nah, I wasnt thinking clearly, the syringes arent bunk, but I had to dilute the lorazepam solution ALOT with water before it would properly draw into the syringe(the solution in the ampules was too "thick" to fit in 29 guage 1cc insulin needles, i had to break open the ampules pour it in a little spoon and add water, mix it before its viscosity was low enough to fit in my syringe.).


It's the strangest thing. Never had this happen before.

If you goto google and type IV lorazapam and click on the first link, it has information about that. It says you need to dilute it with the same volume of another solution.
 
Sell them if you don't plan on taking them IV or IM. Theese vials are rare and sought after in the drug world so you'll get some good money for them. You can then go out and buy multiple times the dose you are planning on taking today.



edit : ahhh nvm i just read the rest of the posts, i just read the title and first post and went directly to the bottom to post.
If you have any more try a larger gauge needle if you can find one, i was having trouble a couple years ago drawing it back into my syringe from a vial of IV diazepam but the larger gauge needle it drew back easily. The needle i used though was very large.

Yes, I remember it :P.

It's actually pretty weak(to be expected) but nice and mild at the same time. Better tha clonazepam IV IMO.
 
yeah I'm just pissed I wasted so much of this stuff trying to get the solution into my 29 gauges.

broke 3 needles and wasted 8mg of solution:! :! :!
