Can you control your drug use?

I can't control my drug use but I don't consider it a problem really. Self control is mostly an illusion anyway, we just think we have control. I try not to bother myself with thoughts of sobriety. Of course I've had a few days and weeks here and there over the past couple years but those weren't outta choice haha.

I can control my use for the most part. I quit smoking cigs 2-3 weeks ago and I hope to be able to exercise good judgement the next time a party rolls around (alcohol really, really destroys any rational plans I might have). Most days I drink one cup of coffee and two cups of tea. I try to use psychedelics once the necessary chores/duties have been done (studying, cleaning, non-drug using friends, planning for the future etc.) I shall gladly admit, though, that my use of psychedelics increases somewhat over the summer holidays to something like 2-3 times per month.

I just thought about this for a good amount of time. I would say no I cannot control it, but not like you guys do. The only drug i can turn down if offered to me, is weed. And that is just because of drug tests. Everything else does not stand a chance. Now I am not addicted to anything at the moment I do not believe. I have only experienced withdrawals from tramadol. Nicotine is getting pretty difficult with me to go a day without. Fuck dipping maan.

As I have gotten older I have learned some self control. I no longer enjoy getting trashed on drugs, I much prefer a good buzz.

Regardless of the fact that I have never bought a drug illegally, I am absolutely addicted. I had come to terms with the fact that I got hooked on fentanyl and then hydro and oxymorphone...and I thought that part of the problem was an oral fixation with the fentora/actiq/patches but then I picked up the needle for the first time and WOW...I didn't know from addicted. Now my opiate use of the past 8 or so years seems like child's play. Since I've picked up the needle, I've found it harder and harder to control my escalating tolerance and usage. I thought I could get away with 5 or 10mg of oxymorphone IV but now I'm finding myself wanting to slam 30/40mg at a time and then starting to jones again in an hour. That whole "I can get way more out of my drugs if I IV" argument is total bullshit, in my case at least. I'm using more than ever, shooting up sometimes maybe 15 to 20x a day.

Thank you for being so honest ^^^^^^ this is exactly what I could never figure out why people using needles would always say the saying, "I get more out of the drug when using the needle" & my thoughts were always, isnt your tolerance gonna sky rocket so high, that if you needed to get some vicodins at the dentist for pain, they wouldnt do shit for the pain, etc, etc.....

Who wants to have that kind of tolerance, so I will stick to popping pills the way they were made. Good luck with your usage Annie!

Despite what I previously said;

My budget rules my drug use. Money first.

Otherwise its an open buffet.

Haha, I'm the same way. No matter what I do I can never control my amphetamine use.

the cure for that for me is the trouble of getting ahold of 'em

that and i have trouble saying no to a drinkfest on the weekends which has caused many problems for me as of lately

Ha! Man, I swear, all the junkies I know break my balls for snorting dope and not shooting it. "You're wasting it!"

And then I watch them rage whenever they take their shot and miss. Not me, man... I hit the mark each and every time, right right in the ol' shnoz! ;)

I honestly wasn't sure until a few weeks ago. Every time I quit something, I'd simply just replace it with something else either by circumstance or just due to boredom. Usually bouncing between Weed and Amphetamines, but Benzo's made an appearance every now and then when I decided not to do either haha. Two weeks ago I spontaneously stopped everything when I got a head cold, and I'm actually surviving just fine. I'm simply just looking at it as a chance to get my lungs better and my heart some relief, so I can train MMA at a more competitive level. I guess I do smash down the Green Tea now though...

LoL........exactly! I cant imagine sticking myself for hours on end trying to find the vein to shoot up...........snorting gets the job done & there is no need for the needle.

definitely i can over come my addiction but when you say beer ill have to say sorry to you

Lets be honest people.. Everyone that has "experimented" with all the different "classifications" of "drugs/Narcotics" there has only been one class of drugs that can truly be described as "addicting" and that my friend is the opiates

Respectfully disagree. While I am addicted to nearly every derivative of the opium poppy that I have encountered, I believe alcohol, tobacco, benzodiazapines, cocaine/crack, amphetimines, etc are all addicting in their own way. I would not want to minimize someone else's addiction by implying that only my drugs of choice are the real deal.

I'd add benzos to that mix. I've experienced zopiclone (non-benzo sedative) addiction and if that's half of what benzo addicts go through, I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. Benzo addiction exascerbates your anxiety problems, they return tenfold after you stop using.
