Can you combine Tramadol and Kratom?

I have supplies of both Tramadol and Kratom, and I've been alternating them in order to cope with my severe pain from my herniated disc in my back and thus to not become totally dependent on one substance. However I was wondering what they might feel like together but I'm too nervous to try it without getting some feedback first. Is this a risky thing to do? Respitory depression, etc? Please note I also have gabapentin (Neurontin) which helps with the seizure risk. Thoughts, anyone?

I've wondered this myself. Some people think kratom affects your serotonin so combining the two could possibly cause serotonin syndrome.

From experience I can say that I havent got any side effect from combining both Kratom and Tramadol. THOUGH this combination is not advise, some people report stomach ache and vomiting.

It's safe to combine the two within reasonable doses. The possibility of extra nausea and sometimes vomitting from the combination is kind of to be expected.

I got nothing from Tramadol. The doc took me off and gave me an ssri. I tried Kratom to see if it would help my pain. 1g powdered leaf and I was anxious for a half hour then a slight opiate feel for an hour. After that I got waves of nausea so I went to bed. It took a day and a half to stop the woozy feeling. Not sure where I went wrong.

I'm guessing that's only felt by people who are either extremely sensitive or opioid naïve.
