kay ill get those next time and letcha know, thanks;)

LOL.

Look at the bottom of the pack. "Tobacco seriously damages health." As if that's news to anyone who passed the 3rd grade.

I quit when I started hacking up black gunk and after taking a six mile bike ride that nearly killed me. I used to bike six miles minimum basically every day. I also read a book (The Easy Way To Stop Smoking by Allen Carr) that transformed my views on cigarettes. After reading that book, I had one last pack: Before I opened it, I told myself that would be my last pack--When I got down towards the end, I was only smoking three or four a day (from 20).

Since I've stopped smoking, my health is much better: I'm no longer coughing up black gunk, I can do six miles on my bike relatively easily, and I'm not a slave to cigarettes. Oh, and I don't smell of smoke. :P

Best of luck--Keep us posted. If you want more advice, feel free to PM. :)

Thanks for this i'll give it a look.

It seems i'm stuck at the point where i can see all the negatives its just putting something into action, when its so much easier to just go to the shop and buy some tabs.

Iv been trying to cut down for several years now, and am always conscious of this when i smoke, but I always hover around ten a day.

I was going to try and go cold turkey just with plenty of weed and/or ket to keep me occupied, but i would literally have to stay in my house for a week or so to get a good start on trying to stay smoke free.

Thanks again,

LL

I haven't seen e-cigs mentioned yet so I'll relay my story again though it may be the 3rd or 4th time on Bluelight in different threads haha.

Anyways I only ever smoked cigars with the guys playing poker once a month or whatever until I was in france for a while and picked up smoking cigarettes. With morning coffee, during the afternoon on the patios, after a satisfying dinner, while out at the bar, etc. When I came back to Canada (not Quebecois of course ;)) it is so frowned upon and though I only planned on having one after a fancy meal out or so a few times a month, it didn't really pan out.

Once I heard about the electronic cigarettes I ordered one and it has been awesome. I never particularly liked the taste of cigarettes (nothing against it either though) but now I have my coffee flavoured e-cig which I puff on maybe 4 or 5 times a week. Delivers the nicotine which kicks in the opiates very superbly if I am indulging, and not only is it perfect for hitting after dinner or outside the clubs, it is also by far the best conversation piece in existence for social gatherings. Everyone is amazed, wants to hear all about it, and letting the hot girls outside the club try it out is pretty much a foolproof in. No smell in the house, no breathing problems, damn I feel like I am trying to hawk these haha.

As for this thread and whether ecigs can be used occasionally, I think they help people quit but the lack of apparent side effects would promote usage in nonsmokers versus regular cigs. In regards to my own cigarette usage, I think if I didn't have an ecig I would smoke once a month or so.

Since my time in France I won't be able to ever look at cigarettes the same way again. I don't think I'm addicted per se but the relationship is different compared to having never really smoked and just thinking of smoking illicit some sort of response. Likely no different than thinking of the first cup of coffee in the morning, or a beer on the couch after work, or splashing water on my face before bed, but different nonetheless.

E-cigs are pretty crap though. Like, if you never really got into smoking, and never experienced a smooth and tasty cigarette, then sure.. maybe they will satisfy. But to me and most people i know who smoke and have tried an e-cig, it just doesnt cut it.

Yes I suppose the taste and experience of a real cigarette is deeply ingrained in your mind and has been heavily reinforced by the nicotine rush.

if i have no liquor or heroin i smoke 0 cigarettes a day. but if im high and/or drunk i can easily go through a pack in a night. for some reason cigs just go so well with nodding out, even if i end up burning the fuck out myself half the time.

This is something that I tried when I was younger and never liked it. Since then I've found the smell to be repelling and try to stay away from it. You know its become an issue when you realize that all your friends are non-smokers.

lol i was just thinking about bumping this thread on my way home today :D

so to whoever recommended marlboro reds- i bought a pack. but ive stuck to smoking on weekends only so i cant tell ya how i feel about em til friday sorry.

tbh smoking isnt really that much of a problem for me. maybe its just that i have like good willpower or whatever but ive only had the urge to smoke once, and that was when i was on adderall and my family was stressing me out.

the only times I've ever smoked cigarettes is when I'm drunk. and even then its super rare. once every 2-4 months maybe? my thought process tells me I want to smoke a joint or bowl, but I'm usually at a bar so I can't or don't have any. so as a second best I'll bum a cig off of a friend and take a few drags at a time off of that. it happens pretty rarely so yes you can be occasional smoker.
