can xanax (alprazolam) lower sexual inhibition similar to alcohol?

Does higher dose of xanax, say 5mg in someone with some tolerance cause sexual inhibition? I'm not asking if ot increases libido but will it allow one who is nervous about sexual intimacy feel less inhibited.

I have stopped drug use, and have been trying to get my social life back to the way it was, I met a girl recently, very attractive btw, and I know she wants to take it further. Beyong 1st base you know. However, for some reason, sense abusing drugs and falling into a depression and then stopping all use, I am scared to have sex.. not a normal thing for me at all. I don't conceited, but I'm in fantastic shape, but have no confidence for some reason, especially sexually.

Anyways I planned a little trip to Chicago with just me and her to see a band we like and stay in a very nice hotel, my question is, would xanax help alleviate my fear of sexual intimacy? I don't wish to drink, I don't like drinking and having sex, it feels illegitimate to me. Especiallly if she drinks too.

Yes benzos cause you to lose inhibitions like alcohol, but most of the time if you take to much you will get whiskey Dick like you drank too much and can't get your Dick up, same thing with benzos

Too be honest I haven't had that problem. Ive certainly been unable to finish, which actually happens nearly everytime with alcohol, but never any trouble keeping that feller rock solid. Just as a precaution I will bring a single dose of viagra

Dog you sound young, don't fuck with viagra. If you really want a better sex life, exercise like lifting weights. Especially squats and leg exercises increase blood flow down there, and working legs release a good amount of testosterone

Be careful, pleaser don't drive, and make sure you use protection because your intentions will be severely impaired, you will get beer goggles, think someone is hot, when really they might have diseases and shit...so definitely bring condoms

Don't worry I don't plan on driving ones I'm at the hotel and I wont take any xanax before I'm there. Also I will forsure use a rain coat. Always do, even if it doesn't feel quite as good. Forget the viagra. Don't think ill need it.

IME viagra/cialis won't even help with xanny dick lol. Perhaps you should throw in a small dose of a stimulant and a low dose of a benzo. I've wasted some great sexual experiences by being far too fucked up on benzos. At a reasonable benzo dose i can just stay hard and never finish, sometimes to great frustration. At a higher dose, my sex drive goes out the window and my ability to perform is greatly decreased. I'd just stick to a dose that you know will get rid of the anxiety but will not affect you very much for best results. Rain coats are an added issue.

I changed your thread title from "xanax (alprazolam) cause sexual inhibition similar to alcohol?" to "can xanax (alprazolam) lower sexual inhibition similar to alcohol?", since it sounded like you were talking about the reverse of what you were actually talking about. If you are asking if it "will it allow one who is nervous about sexual intimacy feel less inhibited", that means will it lower/decrease inhibition, not cause inhibition. Please let me know if I am confused about what you are asking though.

And yes benzos can decrease inhibitions, sexual and otherwise. Not that I think it's a good idea to rely on them to feel comfortable for sex though.

dude, I went to work in a complete xanax blackout wearing a workboot on one foot, a sneaker on the other foot, and a pair of jeans with boxer shorts pulled over them! So yeah, it can definitely lower your inhibitions! lol, buts its not even funny!

Somebody pulled me aside who knew me before the bosses had a chance to see me and I changed my outfit, but I don't even fucking remember that! I went to work at six and snapped out of it at 10...thank god I worked with people who knew me as friends!

Another time, I came out of a blackout, I looked around my apartment and everything was fucked up and overturned, I said to my girlfriend, "Who did this!?"....She's like: "You did, you don't remember?!"

so yeah, it'll lower your inhibitions, but be really careful with the dosage, lol!
