Confessions of an old techno convert and a public declaration of my love for Oscar Mulero!

I was born in the late 1960’s. I love many different artists, for example Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Beatles, Doors, Donna Summer, Led Zeplin, Depesh Mode, Louise Armstrong, Krafwerk, Rammstein Amy Winehouse, Paul Kalkbrenner and many, many more!

Anyhow, about 5 years ago my stepson returned from Berlin telling me how he got turned down at the door after waiting for hours at the “best nightclub in the world!” Some years later I was sightseeing in Berlin and just out of curiosity I went by Berghain to have a look. Later on I was reading up about Berghain and I got curious about the music being played there as I’ve always liked techno. I discovered artists like Luke Slater, Svreca, Anthony Linell, Svarog and - Oscar Mulero!

Listening to Oscar Mulero is like something I’ve never experienced before. His sets creeps under my skin and into my heart like no-one else! Oscar grabs me by my balls and put be on a unclear powered freight train running amok through Siberia and then taking off in to space and the furthest reaches of the universe! Like mainlining coke! (not that I’ve ever done that). My dopamine circuits goes on fire! I'm filled with an energy like nothing else! Riding a never ending cosmic orgasm!

And this can be even when my 5-HT 2A receptors aren’t agonized. If they are agonized and we threw some K into the mix, Oscar Mulero becomes (a representation of) God programming me by sending out his binary code through sound vibrations! I’m not moving – I’m being moved; I don’t breathe – I’m being breathed. I cease to exist, I die, I become one with the infinite; with the primordial mother!

Unfortunately neither my wife, teenage daughter, old friends or colleagues share my love for Oscar. To them all techno seems to sounds like a jackhammer and only be associated with uncomfortable feelings. Prospects to convert them seem nil. I did recently manage to see Oscar live, which - obviously - was absolutely marvelous! But my life with work and family makes it very "costly" to be out dancing and drinking until mornings...

Now, dear BL friends, am I a very weird anomaly in this vast universe, or can anyone relate?

Mulero is too slow for my liking.

Not many people like techno. I've had years where I didn't like it either despite having grown up with it.

Now I can't get enough of it.

I guess you don't live in Europe? To an extent my preference for certain range of BPM depends on my mode. Mulero plays around 135 BPM sometimes, but his genius is in the build-up an mixing, IMO.

I live in Europe when I was 14 I was raised on the slow techno shit, when I was 18 I discovered London acid techno totally different game.
