First, s0rry, that key isn't w0rking, s0 I'm having t0 use a "0" instead.

I was in WHSmith. I have 0rth0static Hyp0tensi0n due t0 l0ng peri0ds 0f n0t eating.
Staff n0ticed I guess that when I'd be cr0uched d0wn t0 l00k at l0wer shelves, I'd get up VERY sl0wly and still s0metimes sway 0r have t0 dr0p back t0 sitting etc t0 av0id faining.
Security came and asked me t0 leave f0r being "under the influence". I was like "I'm n0t DRUNK, Sir, it's nine a.m" and they were like "We said "under the influence"..we d0n't kn0w what y0u've taken".
Even when I EXPLAINED that I had 0rth0static Hyp0tensi0n and what that was they just l00ked sceptical s0 I even added "I have it because I d0n't eat, which is why I als0 l0pale and t00 thin" but they still said I had t leave [which I did, 0bvi0usly].

Uhhh...are they all0wed t0 d0 that? I was literally kicked 0ut because 0f a disability/health c0nditi0n :/

P.S. FUUCKK I never realised h0w c0mm0n that 0ne friggin letter is

They can't kick you out for being disabled, but unfortunately it is quite common for bouncers to mistake certain physical disabilities with drunkenness

The truth of the matter is, any shop can eject you or refuse you service for anything that isn't a protected characteristic in law. Disability is actually one, and orthostatic hypotension falls into a grey area, as the symptoms have to be severe enough to prevent normal daily functioning; the fact you were mobile enough to be out and about and in a shop means you wouldn't be considered 'disabled'.

This means that the security guard's discretion allows them to eject you if they believe you're intoxicated. It's shite, but it's legal.

So without a protected characteristic, any business is free to tell you to do one.

These kinds of misunderstandings happen you see them in local papers occasionally often accompanied by an apology from the company in question.

I W0ULD like an apology from John Lewis. Got my high school uniform there when I was 11. The saleswoman said "It's hard to find clothes that fit you, because you're short, but you're CHUNKY, aren't you?"*. I had been...aware...of being a little bigger than I'd like for a while but for some reason her saying that was just IT. 20 years later and I STILL engage in ED behaviour.
After that experience I actually lose like 35% of my bodyweight in a few months and was hospitalized for "Life-threatening weight loss".

It SOUNDS like shallow/pathetic but I think when that seed is already in your mind. Kinda like how with Karen Carpenter it all started with a review where the reviewer called her the "chubby sister".

*Note: I was like 5-7lbs overweight. It's not like I was obese or even close.

Cunts are everywhere, I am so glad I have been trained to use my voice effectively. Otherwise I couldn't make a sound by now and it is only thursday.

did you cum on your keyboard again?
I know you were joking, but what is it with people who do that?

(I'm not saying that you are one of them or that you might know why, but it's an open question to anyone who may care to respond.)

I'm far from holier than though in such matters, but it's just gross to do that, and impossible to clean properly afterwards. (I should think :sus:.)

A guy I used to work with, had a thing for finishing on his keyboard. He used to disclose some very random things to say the least.

I wasn't really joking knowing CE's post history actually, it happens to the best of us, sometimes it just goes everywhere and you have no control over it. :shruggies:

I am sorry to hear that. Strangely; in America you could probably scare them off by mentioning the Americans with Disabilities Act.

I don't know(seriously) does The UK have a constitution?( besides whatever the Magna Carta is) ( an actual one ; not some abstract construct: That the Canadians claim is a constitution).

Does England have laws protecting the disabled. Also does England have too many lawyers and frivolous lawsuits like America?

Yeah, I was fucking your mom on my computer chair and she asked me to pull out 'cause she "don't want no more fugly kids".

EDIT: 0h, I'll get that $10 to her on payday, promise.

^That was meant entirely goodnaturedly lol. I'm not actually trying to insult you and have nothing but respect for your mother.

^^Your dad still owes me $5, though.

Yes, we have laws protecting people with disabilities, but no frivolous lawsuits.
I dunno if things have gotten better [this happened in the early 2000s] but my aunt had a LEGIT lawsuit. She stayed at [like, vacation villa that she rented]. When she got there she reached into a cupboard. It was full of broken glass at the back [out of sight] and a large shard lacerated her hand. It was down to the bone and she lost function in two fingers due to severe tendon/ligament damage. The lawyers were "no-win, no-fee" and they DID win for her [a small amount since medical bills don't exist here] but there were so many hidden fees they tried t claim 80% of the money she was awarded. She had to hire ANOTHER lawyer to dispute that and the thing dragged out for years.

We don't have a "constitution" but have a lot of laws protecting the rights that people have, and obviously we have the 30 Basic Human Rights that apply to literally everybody in the world.
