Can potentiating opiates be dangerous??

i have a small opiate tolerance, about 35-40 mg of oxy internasally gets me really messed up, would it be dangerous for me to potentiate the oxy to get the most bang for my $$$ or since i have such a small tolerance could i be in danger of overdose?? If it is not dangerous how much tagamet should i take with my 30-40mg of oxy?

No, I doubt you could potentiate anything enough to put you in OD levels. You'd already have to be dosing in a dangerous zone anyway.

Just take the recommended dose of Tagamet with/before your drug. It'll prolong the oxy experience as it inhibits CYP3A4, and it may help with absorption since it reduces stomach acid. But realistically, the bio-availability is good enough already that most of the 'potentiating' will be in the form of making you feel good for longer.

it's definitely possible. for example: you have enough to not be breathing much but still awake. and you took something that made you pass out, sure you could OD.

by overdose i ment discomfort like vomitting or feeling sick, would i need to reduce my dose?

Like I said; if you're already in dangerous territory, then you could possibly potentiate enough that you'll OD. Especially if someone were to (stupidly) take a sedative anti-histamine at that point.

Try potentiating with diphenhydramine. It'll make you more sedated, and it will reduce nausea. That's actually what it's used for.

i find pot is one of the best potentiators for opiates out there. It also rarely causes nausea/discomfort and quite safe.

It depends on what you're using to potentiate opiates with and what dose you're taking. The short answer is yes, potentiators can be dangerous. If the potentiator in question increases peak plasma concentrations, or causes more CNS depression then you're more likely to overdose. However, enzyme blockers just make the drug work a little longer so they aren't nearly as dangerous as other types of potentiators.

I think it can. Especially some ways. Like mixing with benzos AND alcohol. That's the super dangerous trio. It can be done without harm but I highly discourage it.

I tried that once. I was careful, the only harm I got was that the benzos fucking killed my beautiful opioid high.
