Can one pill kill you?

Hi, i just registered to this forum. I have been reading the posts and replies for a long time but never thought of registering till today. This is a question that has been on my mind since the first time i rolled. Can one bad pill kill you?
 
How? I would really appreciate a better answer. Sometimes when i roll i get all paranoid, thinking that i could die and cant enjoy the pill that much...
 
If it contains a dangerous compound such as PMA, or a dangerous combination of compounds such as DXM + MDMA (both of which are relatively safe separately). This is why testing your pills is always a good idea.
 
I'm not aware that anyone has ever been shown to have an allergy per se to MDMA. Excessive idiosyncratic reactions, certainly, but not in the true sense of the word allergy.

One pill could kill you, sure.
Contaminants (PMA, DXM etc) are one issue. What you do on the pill is another, and perhaps the most likely one: hyperthermia, hyponatremia, etc. You might do something silly and injure yourself fatally. You might have an interaction with another medication (MAOIs for example) that could prove lethal. You could use it with other drugs, and not handle the combination and die.
 
If you live in Australia, apparently there are 2 batches of the Red Mitsubishis going around. One is said to contain PMA, as a number of deaths have been reported in Adelaide.

I live in Melbourne, but i'm steering clear of any of these Mitsubishis. I had one at God's Kitchen the other night, & read up on pill reports the next day that they contained PMA. I don't have a pill tester either, so it worsens the chances of getting a bad pill. So yeah, just be careful.
 
VelocideX, I thought I had read that a small percentage of the population (<5% or something) have bad reactions to MDMA.. something to do with liver problems? Sorry if this is vague, I really cant remeber the details, but this has been mentioned to me as a possible cause of people having serious reactions, ans possibly even death to small amounts of unadulterated ecstasy.
 
Yes - One "bad" pill can kill you. Whether it contained another drug such as meth, coke, pcp, or whatever.

No - One pill of pure mdma can't kill you. I view this matter as a 100% fact until there is reason to believe otherwise.

Now knowing whether or not your pill is pure... is pretty difficult. Testing your pills is far better than not, but still not 100% sure. Since the DEA and the government decided to put out a ban on mdma before any valid research was done of the drug. Thanks to them we have criminals tainting pills with other substances. sigh
 
Epik an excessive amount of pure mdma in a single pill does have the potential to kill just remember that
 
I think there have only been a handful of 'MDMA only' deaths out of 100s of millions of doses. Most amphetamine only (whatever amphetamine one might take) deaths are due to cardiac ion channelopathies. That is, individuals with hereditary or spontaneous mutations in one or more cardiac ion channel have their heart "over-stressed" by the amphetamine and a fatal arrhythmia (spontaneous cardiac death) ensues. Of course, risk of cardiac problems or malignant hyperthermia raises when drugs are combined.
 
I believe it was the Leah Betts case that first high-lighted this "one pill can kill" philosophy.I think while people can have an adverse reaction to a certain binder or the MDMA itself it is more likely that your actions whilst under the inflluence are the contributary factors.
I believe Leah Betts had 1 pill-very pure,but the reason for her death was brain swelling due to consuming to much water.
So MDMA ,statiscally, is far safer than say binge drinking but until there is some kind of regulation (not likely i know) of pills there is always gonna be a danger of lethal impurities.
 
there has been deaths from water intoxication. one pill is enought to disable your bodys sytem of regulation water flow. there was the case of the 16 year old girl in australia. this is easily preventable by resources such as this website.
 
know the dangers, so that you may take calculated risks. thats how you avoid danger. but you are never truly safe taking drugs... conversely your also never safe not taking them either, and FAR more likely to die in a trafiic accident than by taking an E.
 
Today one half of a pill killed.

It is currently being reported in all the major media outlets that just half a pill that was supposedly sold as E has killed a 19 year old girl.

The pill in fact contained PMA.

I think this now adequately answers the question......"Can you die from just one pill?"
 
hmm, i thought we had already adequately answered that you could very easily die from 1 pill sold as ecstasy that was not MDMA. you did get the proof though. i hope this one stays up so we dont have another 25 people asking this question then getting smartass with everyone that tells him its possible, but provides no proof. :P *run-on sentances rule*
