Meth has affinity to SERT so it would make sense. It's neurotoxicity is argued to be due to it's effect at SERT. Sorry I can't be more expansive on my thoughts but I'm on my mobile and am seeing double thanks to almost half a gram of diacetylmorphine.

Meth creates a selfish mind set and connection to oneself imo. Amplifies emotion

MDMA creates an empathetic mind set and connection to the universal self I guess.... Numbs emotion

I can see how they can be looked at similarly, but meth is not therapeutic like MDMA in fact it can be quite destructive.

Yea I think meth could give you the empthanogenic effects you're looking for, as it affects seratonin uptake and such.
 
I've found meth to be most aphrodisiacal and empathogenic on the tail end of the experience. If you want immediate empathogenesis, however, you have to do a lot--like 500mg of good shards at once.

BS. Meth has loads of therapeutic uses and is prescribed all over the world. MDMA is pretty damn destructive as well.

Everyone's definition of euphoria, empathogen, enactogen is going to vary. Thats one problem with the human subjective experience.

Meth won't produce empathogenic qualities like MDMA does or psychedelics like LSD do. But it will lift your mood, make you more talkative; and if you're lucky give you a creative spark too.
