Heroin Can I use methadone to get through heroin withdrawl or will it just delay withdrawl?

I couldn't bear the 1st day of withdrawl so I took only 5mgs of methadone at the end of the 1st night and I haven't felt withdrawl since then and I now would be on the 3rd day of withdrawl. Will this get me through the heroin withdrawl or will it just delay the withdrawl until the methadone wears off?

double posting prob unecessary, considering u already got numerous replies to your other post. anyway, yes, it's called a methadone taper. people do it all the time, and i know people whose doctors have prescribed for them to quickly get off opiates. if u want to try it out, decrease the amount of methadone u take (i.e., take 4, not 5--or more drastically, cut it in half to 2.5) every few days when u need it until you're no longer taking it. UTSE. there must be some other posts on this..??
