Bupe Can I jump off 8mg Bupe with Kratom?

I've been on 8mg of Bupe for over three years now. It is now time to quit. If I had a plethora of high-quality Kratom at my disposal, could I get off 8mg cold-turkey with little w/d? Would I have to suffer a couple days after ceasing the Bupe, since it would block the Kratom's effects? Or could I just start taking Kratom the day after my last dose?

Any info would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance! :)

Hell no, you would suffer hardcore for much longer than a few days, I doubt Kratom will do much against buprenorphine PAWS.

You need to taper down to below 1mg before getting off suboxone for better results.

Agreed, if you can taper down to below 1mg the jump would be less painful, even then you might need extracts and enhanced leaf.

Yeah kratom would do little to keep you from experiencing a hellish withdrawal. As previously suggested, taper down to relatively nothing and then switch. Be patient with it and give yourself a slow taper if possible. It will be worth the wait.

8mg for 3 years ? seems to me you could have ben tapering for a while haha. but better late then never.

I would do like a month taper than use the kratom once your off completely.

I don't like how everyone dismisses Kratom's ability to stave off even bad withdrawal. I think many of you have just never used it, or at least never used it properly... Potent 1.9% Bali held me when I was recently relapsed on Suboxone before I moved. I was doing 4 - 8 mg a day, not for 3 years granted, but I still got really sick without it. And I nearly painlessly went back and forth between the two. YMMV.

no definately not, why not plan a bupe taper bwith your doc, it will be very little discomfort, will take a few months, but also a taper done correctly decreases the risk of relapse immensly

and for the above poster, maybe you can get some really potent kratom extract bthat would reduce th w/d (i doubt you could replace an 8mg bupe habit with kratom, you would have to take LOADS, and the really expensive stuff), but how are you going to taper under medial supervision with kratom...?

I have been wondering about this, did it seem like the kratom wasnt effected by the blockade of the sub?

Ya, I will taper. I just wanted to hear opinions on it. As a former Kratom user, I've encountered some seriously potent stuff though. Such as 99% 7-OHM, Mitragynine, etc. Even just straight up leaf powder can be quite potent. I've just never used it for w/d so I wasn't sure.

I'm trying to be as prepared as possible for when I do take my last dose. In my "kit" I have Lorazepam, Gabapentin, Loperamide, Naproxen Sodium, Kratom, and some supplements. I'm also on an MAOI, so hopefully that'll keep my spirits from dropping too low. Would anyone add anything to that list?

How long did you have to wait before doses? When you did the Kratom, were the effects masked to a degree?

You don't have to wait at all. I've used Kratom and Suboxone at the same damn time. If you have a monster tolerance to Suboxone, you're not going to get high on Kratom. Especially if you're using it daily. But that does not mean it won't hold you from the diarrhea, teary eyes, yawning, cramps, etc. It helps incredibly with those symptoms.

My friend suffers with fibromyalgia pain and has a prescription for Methadone. I forget what dose it was but I tried one to see if it was what was causing her dizziness and falls and it was enough that I couldn't navigate a sidewalk, and a wide one at that. We replaced the Methadone with 2G of powdered Kratom leaf in coffee 3x/day and she dropped the Methadone like a bad habit. Kratom is in the same family as Coffee, they seem to work together. I like it with cream and honey and sometimes some d-ribose because my older body doesn't produce enough ribose on it's own... I'd say that everybody is different but nonetheless, the advice about tapering is very good. Why shock yourself unnecessarily? I would think that Kratom would assist in tapering..

Gods in heaven no. You cannot jump off of 3 years at 8mg. Everyone else is saying do a month taper? I"m suggest a year long taper, ideally. Good luck.

I jumped from 8 and it sucked pretty bad (though not excruciating or anything) I don't recommend it, although I think 1 mg wouldn't be too bad.
