Can I Go Back To My Sub Doc?

This past July I made an appointment with a sub doc and they wrote me a two week script for Subutex and had me scheduled to return in two weeks.

I took the subs for about a week and hated them and bailed on my followup appointment and just ignored the sub docs calls to me and haven't talked to them since.

Since then I have changed my opinion on subs and want to go back to them but don't know if I can. I mean I took a huge script of 8mg subs from them and then I disappeared and they never heard from me again. Although it's not like they were charity. It was fairly exspensive for me.

In this situation would a sub doc normally take a patient back after six months? They do deal with drug addicts a lot and I'm sure I'm not the first patient to do this.

So what's everyones opinion on this? If I call them and tell them the truth that I relapsed after a week of sub treatment will they let me try again with them or will they tell me to find another sub doc? How do they know im more serious this time and wont do the same thing again? Also I did sign some kind of contract with them. I don't know if in there it stated that I had to come back for my second appointment or if I voided the contract in some kind of way.

As you said, you're not the first patient to have done this. I would give them a phone call and find out where you stand with them. My understanding is that in some areas doctors who prescribe sub can only do so for a limited amount of patients so that might be a factor in whether or not they accept you as a patient again.

It's possible that if they accept you back they may impose additional conditions but that's something you can and should clarify when you call them.

Yeah I also thought they might impose certain conditions also.

I wonder what they could do. They didn't make me pay for a drug test last time. Maybe they would this time? Also they told me I didn't have to show up in withdrawals even though I did anyways cause I was in a hurry to start it. They also might make me start attending some kind of support group.

On the Internet it says they are excecting new patients so I hope they are. That was something I was worried about also.

I won't be able to call them until Monday now. It's says on there website that I can call them seven days a week but with this being Christmas weekend I might wait until Monday.

I also worry that if they do take me back they will not give me Subutex again. I told them I could not afford Suboxone so he wrote a script for Subutex no problem since it is so much cheaper. Subutex is supposed to be easier to abuse so I don't know if I will get that again.

They were so nice at this place and treated me so great I feel real bad about how I treated them. These people seemed to legit care about me and I just disappeared and never called them or anything. They didn't treat me like an addict or anything. The complete opposite of the folks at Walgreens who started treating me very differently the second they saw what I was having filled.

I am just so worried that they won't take me back. They are the only Sub docs in my area so if they don't take me back I'm in trouble.
