i was scripted adderall i believe august of this summer and have been taking a graudul increasing dose since.

now its 11/19 and instead of 20 mg a day working all day, 80 mg has me just skating by as far as my mood goes. i am not correctly diagnoised but i have mood issues, not sure if its bipolar or some personality issue.

i was getting most benefit with how it helped with depression over needing to concentrate hard.

basically i know this stuff isnt good at high doses and esp not good for just treating depression.

do you guys think i can keep using around 60-80mg for another month with the anti depressant benefits there or is the fact that 80mg a day already make you think its been too long?

i take invega which i heard interacts and also zoloft which i stop alot of and on and im trying to stop all together.

and also ive read certain supplements help with the tolerance, are there any that really do a good job?

Eighty mgs of adderally a day is a very high dose, and you shoudn't be taking four times the amount you're prescribed in the first place. I understand it's easy to increase the dose with amphetamines, but actually the beneficial effects- antidepressant, increased ability to focus, etc- begin to diminish as intake becomes excessive and the adverse effects become more pronounced- insomnia, anxiety, paranoia, tachycardia, etc.

I'm assuming you get your adderall from a GP, but it sounds like it wouldn't hurt to speak to a behaviorlst or some kind of psychiatric counselor, considering what you mentioned about a personality disorder and/or possibly being bipolar. They could provide you with some insight regarding your situation.

^Pretty much with what morphonorconic said. 80 a day is a LOT. I think you need to find a better doctor/psychiatrist/counselor/whatever who can properly diagnose and treat you. I don't think you should just continue taking 80mg of Adderall per day for another month. Your tolerance will probably just keep going up (and/or you'll just keep raising your dose) and it's not solving any of your problems, just masking some of them. You need to get some real help. Surely you must be already getting some side effects with that kind of dose too?

I've been doing a lot of self-experiment with amphetamine withdrawal and come-down therapy.

The four best investments for me have been (L-Phenylalanine, L-Tryptophan, Melatonin and Buspirone.)

I will start by saying that I have presented this to ADD and was not offered a solution as to why this phenomenon occurs: 1g of L-tryptophan when taken about an hour or two after an amphetamine dose seems to increase the duration and strength of the reward/focus effects. I have also discovered that using around 500mg-1g phenylalanine in conjunction also multiplies this effect.

Melatonin and buspirone are taken at night to help the brain repair and grow.
