can I control how I trip?

I couldn't get ahold anything else so I have some benadryl. I did 500mg a couple weekends ago and managed to hallucinate, which was the point but I was hoping for was seeing the sounds that I can taste when what I got was "who the fuck is that standing in my door way?" with no pretty colors or anything. I also got lost in my bathroom for a good 20 minutes but that's because it was dark and I didn't have the god sense to turn on the light.

I may not even try to do it again but if there is a way, how do I control the trip?

my opinion - don't take benadryl, it is not as safe as traditional psychedelcis and won't bring you the same type of enlightening experience either. just work harder at finding some LSD. Or buy a cactus that contains mescaline, you can friggin' order 'em online. There is no excuse for not being able to get them.

Yeah please don't trip on dxm or diphenhydramine.. its more of a dissociation than a trip itself..
and it can be dangerous...

I know kids that take dxm with dramamine too.... dumbasses -_-

Just be a man and extract some DMT from some mimosa hostilis, it really isn't that hard, and WELL WORTH IT!!!

You can't really control a diphenhydramine trip. I've never done it myself, but a key feature of a deleriant trip is the inability to distinguish fantasy from reality. People do all kinds of crazy shit and have no idea that what they're doing is weird, or dangerous. Don't trip on DPH. If you want a cheap, legal high, go do some DXM.

DPH is not dissociative. It is a deleriant poison.

DXM is a dissociative and SNRI and can definitely be "abused" in the proper preparations (free of other active components).

Regarding the title, you can control the trip somewhat by two important variables - set and setting ;)

dxm and dph have almost the same high, I've done both, dxm like 4 times and dph twice. dph had about the same high but with more disassociation and less hangover the next day. I was having lucid dreams that were almost hallucinations as well as full blown hallucinations on the dph. I was dreaming I was at work and periodically waking up while talking to my boss. The first time I did dxm (6oz) I had one hell of an awesome lucid dream but was really out of it the next day, and the last time I did it,(8oz), I was barely delusional and hung over as fuck the ENTIER next day. if there were a way to control the dph really well I might consider a third try... I don't really care for either and probably won't do them again since there doesn't seem to be a way to control it.

my experiences on them have been quite similar. dxm does have a mild feel good that dph doesn't or so has been my experience. they both have almost the same loss of motor skills, general discomfort in the overall trip, very interrupted sleep, if I'm lucky dxm will involve a lucid dream. dxm does render me more immobilized. What is going on in my body chemicaly may be worlds apart but the experience on dph was almost the same as dxm but much stronger and with full hallucinations. really, I felt almost the same and almost the same thing happened except the dph made me hallucinate too.

I got pretty used up on DPH after just tripping once..I had to take it anyway for stress-related angioedema, but I wouldn't suggest that being your substance route (just to echo what everyone else is saying).
Are you trying to control which senses are affected and how? The only thing you can really control is how relaxed you are/what you focus on/the enviroment and that in turn controls visuals etc..hoping for specific things to fire in your brain is not likely to be fruitful. I've never even considered trying to force my trips one way or another, but let me know how that goes.X

extracting the dmt may not be hard but it takes 3 weeks, $100, and people not inquiring as to why I've got 3 pickle jars with brown crap in them.

You *can* do it in a few hours.
Invest more than 100, if your going to break federal laws you might as well have some sort of incentive and days/weeks of working on something, it might as well yeild something worthwhile.

I don't usually advise people towards crime, but deleriants are the sort of thing that come to mind when contemplating stuff that i want to coat blowdarts in like belladona or salvia extract. Because the last thing you expect after breaking into a house is to pull a dart 2 inches out of yourself and by then 3-10mg Salvorin A is hitting the brain, and honestly I dont even want to imagine their next 20 minutes/enternity. 15mg DOB, I would honestly rather just get shot because when you get shot its usually pretty clear how fucked you are. You get hit with a dart on the way out and 2 hours later *incoherent giberish about how they cant feel their fingers*

It seems like so often a thread becomes transformed from it's original question or purpose..

On the subject everyone seems to be addressing, I find DXM and other dissociatives and deliriants can indeed be controlled; or at least they can be influenced. While these may not be ideal substances to have vivid psychadelic hallucinations (since these tend to cause more realistic or accepted hallucinations), they are viable.

Now, on the killerrabbit112's topic, I think that the best way to learn how to control a trip is through experience. There are many techniques that you can use to sharpen your mind and perception, including meditation, logic or spatial work, math, reading, any sort of creative expression, and entheogenic research. However, these activities will only make your mind a more useful tool; they will not grant you the ability to control your trip intrinsically. You must experiment and implement your will upon your psyche to control anything in your reality, hallucination or not. You entire world is shaped by the interaction between your thought reality and the physical reality, hinging on the direct consequences of choices presented by existence, as well as on the content and consistent patterns of your entire mind.

Benadryl is not psychedelic. The reason you didn't get the effects you wanted (seeing sounds, pretty colors, etc.) is because it doesn't cause them. No matter how much you learn to control it, you won't get those effects.
