Not the way I'd hoped the date would end.

It makes me wonder
whether my life is on the idiot box somewhere
and is the top-rated show,
unbeknownst to me, of course.

I can just hear it being discussed
over morning coffee at the office tomorrow...
"And then she threw up the coffee-

I should have known
that when things finally seem to get serious
it always ends in a funny story.
At least I can keep my sense of humor
