I've always been super curious about this because I know of the cold water extraction method which I have used many times. This cold water extraction method leads me to believe that hydrocodone is water soluble. If this is the case I'm not sure why I have heard that hydrocodone can not be IV'ed... anyone more educated on the chemical care to elaborate? =) thanks!

I've never heard of someone IV'ing hydrocodone but as long as you get all the APAP out I suppose it could be prepared as an IV solution. I know plugging is effective but I'm not sure about IV.

IV hydrocodone runs the risk of pulmonary edema, therefore should be avoided.

Tommy boy, I'm curious where you're hearing about pulmonary edema in reference to shooting hyrdocodone. I can't see why someone would get rice krispies from doing that.

pulmonary edema is a build up of fluid in the lungs and sounds like rice krispies when you listen on a stethoscope. I've only ever seen it with sever trauma to the thoracic cavity, and accompanying injuries like tension pneumo-thorax.

And, IME, you can IV it, but it's not a good idea. There's so much shit in there, and it's hard to get it all out and be left with a usable amount of solution. Usually you'd have to shoot a shit ton of week mix to get the job done. I would't advise it. I vote to just eat a few.

ohok, well I wasn't going to try it unless I got ahold of a pill without any tylenol. (Similar to an instant release Roxyicodone)

but yea I know what you mean... its pretty hard to IV a shitton of solution with a 1cc point. Lol

Yea u will need 1 huge spike !! Though not a good idea in the support of Harm reductio.

I've always wondered about the histamine reaction from hydrocodone/codeine etc., I mean, could it be reduced or even completely stopped by taking antihistamine drugs BEFORE injection?

Having shot codeine before (for laughs - I... wasn't sober) it is about as pleasant as an awful and disgusting itch that fills your insides for a short while, with nothing else; no good effects afterwards... I'd avoid it, no doubt.
