can heroin make your teeth crack and fall out? My teeth are getting ground down and there starting to chip crack and fall out. I brush my teeth 2-3 times a day and im still young im not even 30 yet. I don't smoke crack anymore can my teeth problems be from the smack?

If you're nodding off and not taking care of your teeth than yeah
I imagine most of the reason heroin addicts' teeth go to hell is because their binging makes their dental hygeine routines go by the wayside
keep brushing and use lysterine and stuff.
I'm not sure if opiates cause dry mouth or not, do they have anticholinergic effects?

Ive never noticed smack giving me dry mouth but every smack addict ive ever known has shitty teeth. Its odd i have pretty good dental hygiene i think it might have something to do with people getting high and grinding there teeth i tend to do that.

Also probably depends on the ROA u are using with the heroin and what kind of H you are using. IME as a long time moderate Black Tar Smoker.. I've dealt with a lot of teeth problems. Not sure what exactly causes it but would guess the smoke constantly touching teeth, and loving to eat sweets etc. if you would like u should probably hit up the dentist too see if they can help you out.

If your teeth are ground down and breaking, there's a good chance you're grinding them while you're high/sleeping. Opiates give me mad cottonmouth, too. So get yourself a mouthguard to sleep with and some Biotene mouthwash and use it regularly and I think you should probably be able to stave off the junkie britteeth

good call on the biotene,
I came off methadone and the dry mouth is still present. good hygene is the way to go

About the dry mouth it´s always good to chew a sugarless gum, small one like trident.
And mouthwash with biotene or something without alcohol so it´s not that abrasive.
Bicarbonate is also good to use every here and then..

When I was living with my boyfriend and my girlfriend and we were all fucked up, we actually set a daily alarm to remind us to brush our teeth.

It worked, though

It should be as natural as brushing your teeth. We always have one bottle in each bathroom.

I found Methadone to be worse on my teeth, then dope was. Methadone attacks your teeth and bones much more apparently and has a longer life. Ive broken my hand and then later on, my wrist while taking Methadone. But didn't quite feel as fragile on dope.

But I guess to answer, yes dope is bad for your teeth. But like Wezface said, look after your teeth and it will help protect them.

I dont smoke my H. I think it may have to do with the grinding my teeth when im blasted as hell and or when i get really really high ill throw up and when im going throw withdrawal i puke constantly i heard throwing up is really hard on your teeth

Yes indeed. It´s because of the stomach acids. It´s extremely acid. It was meant to dilute meat, imagine what it can be done with you teeth.

Why? I used methadone for 7 years, never experienced breaking bones or problems with my teeth. I believe the lack of saliva can cause gum retraction, but you can take care of that with mouthwash everyday..
Did anyone tell you that methadone causes the damage you´ve mentioned. I´m only curious. As said I used it for too long..

Methadone can cause bone softening/rot your teeth, but it seems to only really affect some people. I'm not sure why. I never had any problems while on it but I know people whose teeth started rotting after being on MMT for a while.

If you're vomiting a lot you DON'T want to brush your teeth immediately after you vomit. Rinse your mouth out with water and wait 20-30 minutes before brushing; otherwise, you're helping grind that hydrochloric acid into your enamel (or lack thereof, depending on how long you've been using/had bad teeth ;))

The lack of saliva caused by Methadone is mainly what causes bad teeth as there is a significant gum loss.
That´s an ongoing issue, 24/7, and there´s not much you can do about it, except chewing gum, and using mouthwash every morning and night (without alcohol in it).
I had gum retraction and it makes some of my teeth really sensitive..

Also the methadone syrup is very sugary itself and also causes sugar cravings, so I can see that being a big part of it

Never got methadone i couldn't because of my drinking which i wasn't willing at the time to stop so this couldn't be the cause

I have been told by a few doctors that that is a myth. You will hear it in a documentary but I don't believe that is true. The thing is you crave sugar more on opiates, you generally have more fucks to give, and you start living harder, or toxic. Be it eating more unhealthy foods, or eating more candy, not eating, giving up hygiene etc. Users tend to develop a goat's stomach of sorts.

I really dont eat all that bad though. I saw a dentist today almost all my top teeth are rotting luckily all of them are save able except 1 what the fuck i brush my teeth like 3 times a day trying to avoid this shit
