Yes, in short, drugs can trigger disorders. Too much of anything can/will break your brain.

If you're asking about specifically schizophrenia itself being triggered by drugs, I don't know.

It's more common if you are prone to the condition (i.e. a family history). It can activate the condition at some point. But as far as creating a new one, it seems more difficult to accomplish. I'm sure it would take years and years of frequent use to create your own mental disorder (that persists while sober, not just some psychosis from being up for 5 days).

only if you have a family history of mental disorders, or if you have existing mental disorders. if you have either, then it is better to stay away from drugs. but if you have no existing mental disorders or family history of them, then experiment with all the psychedelics u want to. just be sure to take the necessary precautions like having a trip sitter and also be in a good mood when u take the drugs because bad trips can also fuck people up mentally. but if you take all the neccessary precautions and have no history of mental disorders or existing mental disorders then you should be fine.

its completely possible for mind altering drugs like LSD and DXM to bring out a dormant mental disorder or worsen an already existing one. thats why it important to follow the set and setting rule and only trip when in a good mood and comfortable atmosphere.

I think it has more to do with the stress of a bad trip than the drug itself. Schizophrenia almost always starts with an episode of acute stress, and freaking out on a drug definitely qualifies as stressful...
