Used Dxm heavily from 14-16. Then meth from 17-18. Can this cause bipolar disorder?

So it wouldn’t be good idea to just do so after 4 months sober?

What is supposed to happen, at least from what I understand, when getting assessed for a mental health diagnosis if there is a drug addiction that must be treated first before they can make an accurate diagnosis.

Drugs can mimic the symptoms of mental disorders, but at the same time drugs can also bring out latent mental disorders. Psychedelic/disso's and strong stimulant abuse can lead one to question their sanity and can bring out mental illness, but they don't really cause most serious mental disorders.
