can clonodine potentiate alcohol?

So I had this script for clonidine and it wasn't too sedating like Benadryl. But I'm thinking since it dosent knock you out and cause real bad cns deppresion, it should be good for potentiating higher doses, specifically like half a bottle of vodka (yes, i plan my exact drunkeness levels)

That depends, people seem to use some of this terminology interchangeably. Alĺow me to explain the definitions as I use and understand them.

Potentiation - This specifically refers to a synergistic relationship between the substances in question. Example: Alcohol potentiates Benzodiazepines. We know that taking these two substances together creates an additive effect that is greater than the sum of the parts, if you will.

Additive Effect - This is what you´re asking. Does Clonidine (Catapres) produce a synergistic effect when used with Alcohol? No, not that I´m aware of. Clonidine lowers blood pressure and tends to produce a sedative effect, however, this is independent of the effects of Alcohol. Yes, the two taken together are going to produce more total sedation, but this is not the same synergy as described above.

I never noticed any interactions, i just pass out more quickly, just drink a monster along with the alcohol.

Why? It's a pretty good sleep aid and i feel that having to wake up with a sore throat than getting a crippling benzo addiction.

Just very unpleasant all around. I once injected it with morphine and it damn near deep 6ed me. I just hate it

We are talking about clonidine not klonopin. If you really did shoot up clonidine then no shit it was'nt pleasent it does'nt even get you high, it's just an adrenergic agonist.
