Opioids Can anyone give tips on how to sleep during opiate/opioid withdrawal?

Trazadone, seraquil .

Never tried trazadone but I am on mirtazapine which is suppossed to be about the most sedating anti depressant.
Seraquil I always felt was a dirty feeling and almost always gabe me restless legs.

As far as meds to help sleep during h wd, my go to was always a benzo plus clonidine, also pregabalin seems to help.

Well, everyone tolerance is different

Gabapentin 300mg capsules X 3-5 daily (poor oral bioavailability)
Pregabalin 150mg capsules (450mg daily max adult - 600mg a solid dose for adult male - 90% oral bioavailability)

Diazepam 5/10mg tablets are basic

I put moderate to lower doses because you want an effective combo to take the edge off, make you comfortable and able to sleep….Clonidine 0.1mg are truly a god send. Any walk-in clinic will script them to you …..an amazing anxiolytic and sedative……probably just as effective as Valium no joke

That 3-shot combo is the ultimate opioid withdrawal comfort med package…..me personally I’d add a super low dose of Methadone 2.5mg morning and 2.5mg few hours prior to bed (Methadone 5mg scored tablets) just for a week, and last week half a day in morning …….2nd week reducing all comfort meds to zero by 3rd week

So doctors really just give you Diaz, clonidine and pregabs? Like how the fuck would you even get your hands on that (not a real question obv). Shit just makes me want to physically assault every doctor I've ever seen. I went in yesterday and told him about the diarrhea I've been having since I got off the oxy, and the fucker said "I'll give you bentyl, sounds like IBS", oh fucking does it?? These are the type of motherfuckers trump SHOULD be throwing in them el Salvador prisons. (Joke, I'm obviously against that shit)

Clonidine isn’t a controlled substance so that’s easy

Pregabalin is scheduled less than Valium (Diazepam) …..so these require speaking honestly and respectfully with a doctor to get a Short term script for Low Therapeutic dosing and only for 1 week, plus an additional week of dose reductions , third week you could end with 1/2 tablet Clonidine before bed

If u can build a report or emphasis on your dedication to be free from all drugs, but are requesting low dose comfort meds for initial week and gradual/rapid dose reduction 2nd week and third week tapering off to nothing

They would feel comfortable…..even I say I’ll take a daily pic of my pill counts and show you at next appointment. I’m taking as prescribed and nothing diverted to illicit market

The use of seroquel as a sleep aid is increasingly frowned upon because of potential side effects. Restless legs would fit to that. I wonder if there is a cumulative effect between seroquels RLS and RLS from withdrawal.

Idk you tell me. I got high every day on pods and stopped about once or twice a week except a couple of times. I had cold sweats. Idk is not that bad. Meth made me sleep for days though.

hahaha, I have barely slept in several days. In the early morning hours I even tried sleeping on the floor with my legs elevated 90 degrees that some dude in this thread said helped him with RLS in jail. The moment my brain clicked into sleep my legs kicked right off the wall and woke me up again in agony. I feel like that cat in the sleep deprivation experiments, trapped on a platform where he'd fall into the water as soon as his muscles relaxed from falling asleep.

Why didn't I think of this before?! I mean maybe you posted in the wrong thread, but damn, if I could get my hands on 100 mg methadone and a few other goodies mentioned in your post, I bet I'd sleep like a baby!

Surprisingly, clonidine helps with sleep while going through withdrawls. It's a blood pressure med.

Work and withdrawals are a bad combination
I know some people can do it with a lot of other medications but honestly just the thought of having to acquire all those meds and then find the right doses makes me want to stay on what keeps me functional
Even if I know its also what's going to be my downfall if I don't quit

Stay away from benadryl and antihistamines during withdrawal as mentioned by a mod in another thread it will trigger horrible rls and anxiety. This actually caused me to ruin a withdrawal and relapse one time because I took a benadryl and it was crazy RLS and anxiety.

What's the science behind this? I would have thought the sedating antihistamines would help with anxiety (a little)?
