can anyone else not use drugs because of their job?

my work does randoms. i'm scripted adderall, and a few xanax and klonopin. hardly any. so pretty much that's all i can do. i occasionally will use an RC. but i can't do anything like i used to. although i know it's stupid, on a rare special occasion i'll use mdma.
 
Nope - I've never had a job where I was drug tested. I 'have' had serious jobs, so it's not that (not that I haven't 'had to deal w/ that yet). I've been out of college for a few years, had a handful of jobs, work for a translation firm. So... lucky me!
 
i dont see the point of this thread.....

get a job at a place that doesnt test. or do drugs that easily avoid testing. this seems borderline against the rules actually....
 
School has randos every two weeks or so. I've only been tested once, but I can't park on campus if I do. Since I leave and come back halfway through the day twice a week, that's a problem.

I'm sure I could find something they don't test for, but then there's my parents to contend with.
 
I wouldn't take the job. What right do they have to monitor my life outside of work if I do the job?
 
We get threatened with drug tests daily, but they never happen because 90% of workers are doing some kind of drug, whether it be weed or smoking shards and management know this so if they were to do randoms, they would defiantly be busy firing employees.

I also know for a fact that the top dog at my work is the biggest stoner out.
 
If you wanna use drugs w/o ever getting a drug test, work in restaurants, lots of drug use there w/o drug testing.

This. Even the management gets high where I work. A few weeks ago there were a bunch of kids in town for this SSDP (Students for Sensible Drug Policy) conference and we were giving them all discounts, lol.
 
Yea....Im a lil on the fence on this thread too Redrum OG but ill talk to the other mods and see.
 
I work in a pharmacy, and have worked in pharmacies for years. Basically, major retailers, like Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc. do drug tests, and will randomly periodically test pharmacy employees. I now work for an independent pharmacy, and have never even heard of anyone getting tested, except for one kid who they busted pocketing raw materials from the lab...
 
I've never been subject to random screenings, but it is really common. A friend of mind works in banking, and they drug test during the hiring process and then before promotions.
 
I work in healthcare and we are drug tested prior to hire and anytime there is an incident or if they have "reasonable suspicion" that you are using drugs. I went over four years without being tested and then got a "reasonable suspicion" test after a patient said my partner and I stole her meds. I guess its up to you as to which is more important - drug use or having a career. That said, I keep my rxs with me and show the bottles to the person administering the test.
 
I have known people that start careers that have random testing and have to definitely drop pot and choose on other things depending how risky they are and how in-depth the test is.
 
Never been tested - hope I'm never tested - not sure what I'd do. I guess stop with the weed but I'd just try to make sure I have enough time to get the mdma out of my system :p
