Hi Bluelight,
Long long story short ok:
I was a member in Oz but since moving to UK kinda forgot. Anyway I'd like some advice. I'm trying to reduce my perscription OxyContin use. I was allowed to take 6x80mg then shit hit fan was sent to pain clinic and told to reduce two years later I'm trying to reduce from 2x80. I got down to 3x40 twice but have bounced back and am really struggling. I'm seeing nhs doc tomorrow as I keep using lower amount too quick and have to survive on Kratom which cheats the w-ds big time but basically leaves me lethargic and useless for the time I'm on it so I wanna go back to my 2x80 dose. Can they deny me? Should I ask to go to an addiction centre like Brent? Has anyone else been in this boat? Oh yeah I ended up on Oxy coz a doc in Oz put me on Fentanyl which totally f***ed my opioid tolerance. I've tried hammer for pain, prefer it to bloody Kratom but don't have any connections here so it's Oxy or zip and besides the addiction I cannot manage pain without junk.
God Bless
:-)

I've in pain management a few years ago and found a doctor that helped me wean down. I went from oxy to hydrocodone until I was able to quit altogether. I'm in the U.S. so not sure how they will treat you but you already made a huge drop it seems.

It doesn't seem unreasonable to go back to 2x80 dose so hopefully the doctor will see that. Hope your appointment goes well and let us know what happens. Welcome to Bluelight! :)

If you're honestly wanting to do this, almost any pain clinic will help you achieve this in a realistic way. Like the above poster said, it's not unreasonable. Just be honest with the dr and if s/he tries to wean you too quickly, find another clinic/dr. And I don't mean doctor shopping, I just mean be honest and you will find a doctor who will help you in the right way. Good luck, it's a pretty gnarly thing you want to do!

Thanks guys yep they let me go back up but then I fkd up again haha. It's a long journey. That's right ph bandit they did try to get me to come down faster than the pain clinic recommended as a coverup for their f up taking me that high. This new clinic seems pretty cool. I just need to get my head around this I guess
God bless
