Opioids can a person have 'no' veins?

an experienced junkie told me i could never start shooting up, that my veins are so barely visible/shitty that i would blow through them in a week.
approx. how many ppl how are like that? is anyone here not IV'ng BECAUSE of no veins?

might be a super stupid question, but i dont get it, i thought every person was able to shoot up
 
yes, it happens ("running out" of usable veins for shooting drugs), though the term is mostly used in the hyperbolic sense

but when it does ,it's not at all a pretty thing

Some people have better veins than others - in terms of shooting up, better veins means bigger, more visible/accessible, and more quantity.

You can't have NO veins, otherwise you'd be dead.

It is possible, however, for a person to have a naturally/genetically limited circulatory system which might be the case for you.

But... I'm a IV drug user for about 6 years.. and some days are better than other in terms of finding veins.

Currently i'm injecting in my right foot. those veins are effin' small so they easily collapse.

But to add something useful maybe, I've got a mate who's an IV heroin user for at least 25 years, and he has to hit shitty places like between fingers and shit..

So no, you can't have NO veins, but IV'ing can get so bloody painful and bothersome that some choose to go for another way of getting their fix.

I guess you are female.. my GF also has shitty veins.. but you still can shoot up.

^^Females definitely tend to have much smaller veins, at least in my experience. Although I think I heard something about women having poor circulation compared to men on some Discover channel show too.

To the OP-Everyone has veins they could use to shoot up. As stated earlier, some people just have bigger, more visible and more plentiful veins. You'd definitely be able to shoot up if you practice, but this is not at all advisable because the needle is usually a path of no return. Not to say you can't ever go back, just many people can never do drugs in any other way after they touch the needle.
 
i never had good veins either, after 4 years i'm trying to snort my tar to get away from IM'ing, as i have no veins i can find, they've all sunk below the arteries
 
I've been told I have great veins for shooting before... hasn't made the idea any more appealing, though.
 
I have gigantic veins in both of my arms, they've labeled me a junkie since junior high....
I've never shot up anything, and I'm scared of needles....
The worst thing is the fact that all my veins are blue. I could shoot up in my neck if I wanted to, but I won't....
 
Experienced nurses, but not mediocre ones, are able to find veins that are not clearly visible but that can be found by touch. It also helps if you use a very hot compress before looking for veins.

If you are inexperienced, dont go looking for hidden veins. You might nick an artery.
 
yeah just because you're veins aren't very visible doesn't mean you don't have any and you can't shoot up...

it is just going to be more difficult to find them and you will probably lose them quicker... so when you do find some veins and start hitting them you especially need to take care of them:

rotate injection sites, use at least two different veins but more is better. if you give each vein enough time to heal by switching you'll never have a problem losing them... and always use a new needle every time... it is really the most important thing you can do to keep your veins in good condition ... using a dull needle will destroy your veins and give you bad tracks so quickly... honestly dull needles will scar your veins quicker than you'd think.

if you are considering starting to IV i would really suggest that you don't... there's more baggage involved than pleasure that you get out of it. but if you insist on doing it make sure you have an experienced user do it for you, especially if your veins are hidden
 
i also have veins that hide.....its starting to piss me off....

im not shooting anything at the moment, but if i got back to dope....

the veins in my crooks are both only like an inch, if that.....i dont have many options....
 
For a very short while you will get an incredible rush like you used to, but then its over and your tolerance adjusts and you are getting LESS high than ever and cant get off except through shooting.

No judgments here, but you might be better off smoking and snorting.
 
Anyone else notice them huge bodybuilder veins thy have? It's like the size of a horse vein!
 
Not sure if anyone said it, but if you have Raynauds syndrome. My friend has a seemingly mild case, but its poor circulation and you get discoloration in your extremities. He tried to do some H and just couldn't get a vein. I was helping him and it was impossible, I'm pretty good giving someone else a shot. After I stuck him twice I just knew it would be impossible and we gave up. With this his hands are always cold and clammy to the touch and he's really uncomfortable when its cold out. I think in more severe cases it can even be necessary to only stay in warm areas. Though I think you'd probably know if you had it or it would be bothersome enough to see a doctor.
