Ok so I take 4 grams of phenibut once every week.

Question:
Will this 4 gram dose (once at least every week) cause any of the following, over the long term:
-Renal failure, hepatotoxicity (including fatty liver), eosinophilia, or any other problems with the liver, nerves or the kidneys?

Please answer with as much detail as you can.

Note: I have a high bilirubin measurement, that has always been high to start with, but recently it has been more elevated.

Bilirubin: from 1.6 to 2.2
*The range is from .2 to 1.2
*Other than the bilirubin everything else is ok

Sorry if this is not the right section (am new here).. Feel free to change it or what ever you want, but please answer me.
Thank you in advance

Overdose?

Keep in mind this is taken for recreational use, only once a week... I know it is not a normal or usual dose and that it is above usual, but can you tell me if this is harmful for me in the long term, specifically at this:
-Renal failure, hepatotoxicity (including fatty liver), eosinophilia, or any other problems with the liver, nerves or the kidneys..

Sounds similar to my usage. But I have been using twice a week, but between those 2 doses I am not doing much more than 4 g a week (and I was not using that much around 6 weeks ago when I started doing it).

These are good questions and reasonable concerns, I suppose. Aside from the high bili, is there a particular reason for your concern. I will say this, there is not much info on the use of Phenibut. You can read some anecdotal reports about people who heavily abused it (multiple gram doses daily, possibly multi times daily) who had some health concerns that would lead you to believe they had something not-so-good going on inside. That does not seem to be the norm, but withdrawal is obviously a common issue for heavy users.

It is really unlikely someone will show up with any definitive information about the safety of this substance. All you can hope for is more anecdotal information.

BTW, OD = Other Drugs. It is the sub forum they moved it to. It is for questions that would not be considered 'basic'.

Thank you for responding,
So your taking 2 doses a week that add up to 4g, or 2 4g doses a week that add up to 8?
And if you don't mind, just curious what made you increase your dose?

Aside from the high bili, I don't think I have faced any problems, with either tolerance or anything otherwise physical.
All that is to its use is I getto enjoy a day of complete serenity that carries on to the next day, and the following days are also good. I don't feel like I need it, to live my life at all, but it is really helpful when you want to just have a great day at the end of a week.

I mean liver wise, is it worse then get drunk once every week?

Thanks

I can't comment as to your frequency of use, but I was taking it every day, and my kidneys shut down, they stuck three bags of saline in me(via an IV in my neck, thanks to dehydration and IV use) before my kidneys decided to work again, so it would seem that chronic use, at least, is no good for you at all.

Nicholai, that sounds horrible, well firstly I really hope you recovered and you are ok by now!

Btw what was the daily dose you were taking? Where you IVing it, and was it because you weren't drinking enough water?

i wouldn't worry about the shit you listed except nerves, doing 4 grams a day for 14 days will probably make you shaky and shit, not delerium tremens level but pretty bad. this shits a lot less forgiving than say, benzos in terms of how long you can dose before nasty shit starts happening.

speaking from experience.

Oh yeah, that sucked.

I wasn't IVing phenibut, I used to have a nasty heroin addiction, so my veins suck. Phenibut seems extremely dehydrating, yes. I think at one point I was taking at least 12g/day, which really is redic, but I've stopped taking it totally, just too hard on my system.

4 grams a day for 14 days is beyond anything I will ever think of doing. I feel like 4 grams at the end of a week might be a little extreme?
I will be skipping this week, but when I do take that dose, I feel completely high out of my mind haha, but for fear of developing tolerance I will never do it any more thn that, am even thinking of making it every 2 weeks..
Other than that, I try my best to stay as natural as I can, and it's been working so far.

Did you finally get off of it or substitute it with something else?
That is a ridiculous dose, did you try doing it once a week, or always did it is a daily schedule?

IME using it once a week will certainly not cause physical dependence, and is a very wise use pattern. I have an "addictive personality" and that shit made me high as a kite, so I couldn't resist it-it became a daily thing and is now a major problem. I'm now using over 10 grams daily, and hearing talk of kidney failure has me very worried. I have started a taper though of 1.5 grams a week, I'm only on the first week so far, and I'm hoping it doesn't become too uncomfortable as I reach the lower doses.

If phenibut becomes a daily thing, then watch out, cause it's a bitch for tolerance - daily use is not a good idea. Btw does anybody know a drug/plant that can ease withdrawal symptoms?

It is sounding more and more dangerous everytime someone says something about it.

To ease withdrawl symptoms (am guessing panic attacks and anxiety) I'd recommend the following, some may work better than others, and their just my opinion:
Valerian, magnesium, running (believe it or not it is a great way to vent out energy), tuarine, gaba, theanine, tryptophan.. Stay away from coffee, and anything that contains tyrosin or phenylalanine (sodas contain that to) or PEA...

For me tryptophan made my mind less negative and edgy, theanine, magnesium, and tuarine calmed my nerves and valerian relaxed my tense muslces the most probably more than magnesium..

Good luck

these are all good for minor anxiety, not for physical dependence on a drug that binds to gaba receptors. detox the wrong way off these you'll and end up in a casket. (seizures and shit like that.)

That is true, and if you have any advice on the topic, please do share..
Thanks

It's a very tricky one with detoxing from phenibut, as apparently there are no replacements that hit exactly the same receptor sites; I tried using benzos but they did nothing. I guess the only real way of doing it is to taper, though I'm also open to suggestions.
