Opioids Came off OC in one week using Methadone

So, I had a heavy OC addiction going.

The first day I was sick, bad sick. The next day I took methadone to help out. I continued to take methadone for the next 4 days after and then stopped taking methadone. I'm now 6 days out from the last day I took methadone and I've yet to experience any sort of withdrawals.

Am I just lucky, or will this work anytime I let myself get a little too crazy on the pain meds?
 
this question is kinda vague. if your not taking an astronomical amount of oxy then a short taper like you did should work. just keep stepping down every day.

I was doing 120 or more mg a day of oxycodone.

I took 40 mg of methdone the first day and 30mg each time after.
 
How long were you using 120+ mg a day? If it wasn't that long, then you probably wouldn't have much withdrawals anyway. If it was an extended period of time, what you've done may or may not be all you need. There are really too many variables for us to tell you anything definitively... However, if you're a week out from using any type of opiate and don't have any withdrawals, you're probably going to be ok. Just don't start the cycle over...

yea, why would you choose to not taper the dose down when you are trying to quit? if it were me i would do the 40, 30, 20... methdod.

i can also see how that would make the withdrawals go away with such a short taper if you werent on the oxy for a long time.
 
I have to detox off of OC

Even though my third back surgery is upcoming, I have to detox, taking 3 80mg OC, 10-15 1000 mg pertocet for breakthrough pain and 10-12 350mg soma a day. Anesthesiolgist says can't do surgery because afterward the hospital can't legally or safely give me increase in pain meds post-op to help after surgery, so I have to cut back my meds prior to surgery. I've tried cutting back across the board but just can't do it, I'm addited to this stuff now, not to mention the pain.

I find myself looking on line now at these online pharmacys thinking if I had enough zanax, or valium I can detox myself ect ect, but in my mind I know I'll just get ripped off or just make things worst. I'm addicted, but not an addict and what I'm thinking about with these online pharmacies is starting to look like addict behavior. I don't doctor shop or anything like that, I am truthful with my doctor about what I'm taking and how much because he is the one giving me the meds. I have to admit though I have purshased soma online and told him so, he just wants to help, not a quack or anything, but his take is for me to just stop taking as much and I can't do it, I've tried.

Im sick of taking these meds and need some advice.
 
I had been doing 120 mg or more of oxycodone a day for over 2 months... The last time I went through withdrawls it was horrible. I had bowel problems, sweating, mental stress, sleeplessness, full body restless leg...

I still can't believe I've not had any withdrawal symptoms, hence why I asked if I was just lucky.

Man, I don't really know what to say that would actually help you... maybe someone else can.

But, I wish you the best. I'm not the praying type, but I'll say one for you anyways. I really hope that you find something to help you.

Oh, I still crave them, but nothing like when I've went cold turkey before. I actually turned down a free roxy 30 tonight. I'm literally shocked and amazed that quitting was so easy this time.

Maybe I just got lucky... somehow.
 
It fucking pisses me off when people say "I was taking 1000mg percs", there is no such fucking thing. That means you take percocets that contain 1000mg of APAP. Read your fucking prescription bottle.
