( i know dumb question...) haha

i'm currently on a strict diet and am wondering if anyone knows the calorie breakdown in pods?? i can't find this information anywhere.

what i typically do is eat THE ENTIRE THINGS (include seeds/stem/crown) all finely ground up.

does anyone know the calorie breakdown (% of fat/carb/pro, calories, etc)?

in one of my university biology classes we tested the number of calories that certain foods contain.

i believe a calorie is a unit of measurement of how much energy a food contains.

the way we did the lab was to pre weigh the food or whatever. then burn the item until it no longer holds a flame and then collect the new weight.

then there is a bunch of bull shit math that i don't remember but maybe you might know what i'm talking about?

This has been asked before and never answered so unfortunately I can't help. I do know that the seeds are have some fats, oils and such and contribute zero alkaloid content to your doses so eating them contributes calories and nothing more. Stems likewise probably contribute a fair a amount of calories with few alkaloids.

I consumed the pods whole then saved the stems for tea for when I ran out.

You can use a copper calorimeter for this - it's a fun experiment you can do at home. A calorie is the amount of heat required to raise 1g of water by 1C.

I seriously doubt a single medium sized pod has >100 calories. It would obviously contain all three main sources of calories, but the relative amounts are hard to conjecture.

If you're worried about gaining weight, then I wouldn't worry much about poppy pods as they are 1) probably not dense in calories and 2) fill you up without much caloric intake.

i appreciate all the answers!! i cant believe this info isnt found somewhere online :)

at any rate... i wish it was that simple. the calories themselves arent a big deal. its more of the macro breakdown. how much fat/protein/carbs (especially carbs) are in them?

hmm...guess i just wont worry about it. or maybe i just wont even do them.

I was on a strict diet when I first started taking poppy pods. Mine was strictly calories though, not carbs, fats, etc. I did think about it at the time but wanted to take the pods enough that I never really looked into it too much. I can say though that it had no negative impact on my diet. In fact, they often suppressed my appetite and helped my diet along in that way.

yea i'm thinking i'll just take the advice of a previous post and just dump the seeds/stems and eat the rest. wont be as bad...

mine are for carbs (keto). the point to stay in ketosis... which brings up another question as to how safe it is to use them while in ketosis?? i can say, alcohol is GREATLY intensified being in ketosis because of lack of carbs... i get drunk off about 3 mixed drinks now when i used to drink about 10 of them. so i'm wondering if pods are going to be similar? i will be very careful dosing and only take a very small amount to determine how potent they are with a lack of carbs in my body

eating massive amounts of poppy seeds is like eating battery acid, if dont agree with me go do your intraweb research. why are you dieting while taking pods anyways? most regular users of pods take laxatives and that alone is like a diet

when i was using pods heavaly, miralax and prune juice were my best friend. I ate what i wanted all the time and actually lost 30 pounds over 2 years
