Calling for a new Aus Social mod!!

After an epic few years as a moderator, first of Events and then Social, the time has come to say goodbye. This thing called Real Life is getting in the way, as it tends to do, and I don't have the time or energy required to devote to AS anymore.

It has been a pleasure and an honour serving this forum, and being a member for almost 10 years (holy shitballs I need to get a life). I'll still poke my head in occassionally but I won't be a constant presence like I have been in the past. Think of me like furniture. No wait. Think of me like a pet spider. Pointless and useless until it escapes. Hmmm...that wasn't what I was going for either. What's the opposite of a pet spider?

Anyway, I have to give a special shout out to the amazing Eggman who has been my partner in crime and a brilliant support to me. Guess what?! Someone has to fill my shoes (they are quite small, so it shouldn't be hard) and step up to take on the role of AS mod and personal assistant to Eggman. Is it you? It very well could be! Please send your applications through via PM to both Eggman and myself by SUNDAY MAY 16th. Send an expression of interest and why you think you'd be tops. Or ace. Preferably both. Also, what your coffee fetching skills are like.

Thank you very much for everything Leecie. As we all know you have been a very well loved and constructive element in this corner of Bluelight for such a long time. Your efforts in Aus Events kept that forum alive for a long time and your efforts before the merge a while back helped define the way Aus Social looks now - Just have a look at the amount of Event themed threads in the forum today.

Just to reinforce what Leecie has already said, we are needing a replacement because the reality is that we have only had two mods for the last 6 months and now we just have one - me.

If you think modding the forum is something that you have been interested in doing please drop us a line and we will give you all careful consideration.

I'd have time to help mod if it wasn't for our little one (been off work for 4 years now for my injury but being full time dad doesn't leave toooo much time for being on the net)

Cheers. Recovery is ok to good. Winter is coming on which means it is the suckage for pain but the oxycontin from TAC/government and the *whistle* random Papaver somniferum plants growing near me in places 'wild' ;)%)

Still ride a bit, more so that we've moved to Geelong. Finding out the Great Ocean Road has returned to it's former glory days of the 80s/90s before it started being over policed and way too much road work etc for it to turn from a GREAT road to 'crap'

Now that most of the Melbourne roads are doing that (overpoliced, roadworks etc), like Reefton, Black Spur etc, I'm LOVING living a short ride from the GOR. Best riding I've done in years is happening on GOR now from me :D My arm is in the perfect stage. It's gotten STRONG for riding on a motorbike but still sucks for stuff 'off the bike' so I still get paid $$$ to not be working :) =D

No complaints there! But, I will be looking to work probably after the next summer, once I start paying $$$$ to renovate my beach house (to sell it), I wanna make sure my savings doesn't dip past being a "good security blanket" so to speak. For now, it's watching our beautiful daughter grow, garden (when I can) and ride my bike until I either heal up heaps or enough so I can work again :)
