Hi Bluelight! You can call me Gunship. I just want to preface my introduction by saying that I've seen a few places that were based on drug discussions, but I haven't seen one with a community that is so focused on harm reduction as this one.
A few things right off the bat; I ramble a lot, I'm just insecure that when I'm trying to make a point it makes sense to me but maybe not so much to others, so if it seems like I am saying the same thing three different ways it's for my own sanity. Also thank you in advance for taking the time to read through this, if you do get to the bottom, that is. If not, tl;dr: Stumbled upon this place after having a few personal questions about amphetamine binges. The answers I found I mostly expected, but there was definitely a few really well thought out posts I found that got me through a lot of the anxiety I was having, which would have made it worse. I was extremely surprised at not only how well together this place seems to be, but at the lack of hostility of the members and the general understanding that we're in this together, and the efforts some of the members made to explain things to others in a simple, easy to understand way. (At least that's the impression I got).
I can't think of much I haven't been addicted to at one point or another, so I decided to sign up because I feel like not only can I get help staying clean here, (just by having people to talk to who understand) but I might be able to impart some knowledge as well (seems like there's plenty to go around, though). I'm looking forward to becoming a part of the community, where I live isn't exactly the most understanding when it comes to drug use, as it isn't such a big problem here as in some of the larger cities you may be from. I went and poked around the site and read most of the guides, they are extremely well put together. I don't know who's job that is, but good job. They are extremely thorough and I had most of my questions about the functionality of the site answered right off the bat. With that said, hello Bluelight!
I'll keep the rest of this short, that way you guys won't have to read a book. Most of my interests lie in history (anything about WWII or Vietnam and I'm hooked) and the effect of psychedelics (and various other mind-altering substances) on the human brain and psyche. I guess I feel like if I can understand that, I'll have an easier time keeping clean. I tend to read a lot as well, virtue of having the amount of free time I do right now. So, if you've got a book you're reading, let me know! Always interested in new topics, especially about history. I'll crack it open and maybe we can have a discussion later. I also work a lot on my PC, I don't know why I keep making it faster, I don't really have any reason to (too or to?), but if you have any questions around that field, feel free to shoot me a PM (once I have Greenlighter, that is). I can (most likely, sorry Mac users) help you overclock, or just diagnose random bugs. I know that Windows tends to act up sometimes. I'll end this NMI just by saying I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys. I'm afraid to say much else, I saw all this disclaimers about personal information in all the entry guides, so until I can feel out the site some more I probably won't say much. I think I've had a bit more trouble with the law than most people on this site, so by virtue of that I need to be a little more careful, I think. I hope that didn't sound arrogant as I realize I don't know any of you yet, so my apologies if it does. (Also can anyone can tell me how to indent my damn paragraphs? They keep reverting back all the way left, or aligning the entire margin of the paragraph with the indent. Thanks). So hello! I'll go poke around the other forums and the other NMI's in the meantime.
