Its been a while since I've written, but damn it makes me feel good.
Only the palm trees knew our place
Only the blue sky knew the race
What seemed so easy turned to be just
A timed event to try my trust
I suppose that both of us lost
But it was worth the chilled frost
Upon my smile and your subtle grace
When we found our secret place
And so this is now those many years
Ahead in time that I would fear
My shadow looms longer in the sun
The battles are smaller that I have won
But for a while the world was ours
The sea and sky, each cloud and star
So tend to the tables and I will still dance
Just like those bright days made of glass.
